The Police Museum holds this copy of the George Medal issued to WPS Ethel Bush for plain-clothes decoy duty against a Croydon sex attacker in 1955 & some of the press coverage of its award at Buckingham Palace, whilst the Crime Museum holds the log used to attack her. #danger #Museum30 #VAWG #CM150
So the MetTaskforce worked all last week surging policing activity in The West End in Westminster
The teams worked tirelessly to target prolific criminals in the area & had some cracking results.
I am proud to work with such can do & proactive cops.

The operation continues.
Late turn, Territorial Support Group officers along with Dog Section, Mounted Branch and Interceptor Teams patrolled. TSG officers assisted local officers in safeguarding a number of women who were being exploited as sex workers. 6 suspects arrested.
So today marks the start of a week of intensive activity from the @MetTaskforce in the West End in @MPSWestminster.
The day began with activity tracking and arresting offenders wanted for offending in Westminster. 6 hard to reach offenders arrested.
Inspector Watson and his team work really hard to improve life for people in Lambeth.
A great example of a proactive Neighbourhood Team.

Well done!
A reminder in a week of bad news for the Metropolitan Police, that the vast majority of our officers are honest, decent and brave.
#PublicService
An example of great police work.
I would like to give a shout out to PCs Lazell & Scurlock from SE TSG who worked really hard coordinating the Entry Teams executing the Executive Action, recovering evidence/ making arrests.

I got to meet one of our new recruits today.
One of our future @MetTaskforce search dogs scampered into my office and brought a smile to my face
A lovely man, still missed.
Watched the Gareth Southgate, Richard Dimbleby Lecture this evening.
It's really impactive, and I would highly recommend it.

Another bit of great work by S.E Territorial Support Group working with Central North BCU, our officers executed 2 warrants under the Misuse of Drugs Act. Occupant tried to dispose of evidence as our officers went in. Estimated £120k worth of class A drugs recovered. #U44 #U45
Officers from South East Territorial Support Group spotted a suspect in #NewCross who made off on an E bike. Stopped & arrested for drug supply.
A search of his home found 200 wraps of cocaine along with an offensive weapon.
Great work by #U41 & PD Frank & his handler.
Yes, I remember them well. Fantastic work from the first responders to the detectives piecing it all together.
A small part of an incident can be amplified & spread, leading to trial by social media. It is not fair on officers & leads to good officers lacking the confidence to act when they need to, to keep people safe.
These officers were found to have acted correctly.
This case caused a large amount of commentary on SM & highlights how hard policing in the 2020s is.

I had the pleasure of going out with some of my team today patrolling Westminster.
We came across a male wanted, having been recalled to prison. He was arrested after a short chase and efforts to give false details.
Some great work. #U44
26 years today since my course passed out of Hendon.
Fantastic class. Including a colleague who took his own life on duty some years ago who will always be remembered.
There have been some hard days, but on reflection, I would do it all again in a heartbeat.
My brothel-keeping ancestor (see previous post) plied his nefarious trade on the beat of PC Jerome Caminada, who was a member of the Italian community with the other side of my family. He became one of Manchester's finest detectives and was a Victorian super sleuth. My first book was his biography.
We are nearly 200 years old now as an organisation. The wealth of history that went before us is humbling.
Perhaps now would be a good time to introduce this platform to Pedro the Galgo. He is from Spain and firmly dislikes all rain and cold and spends most of his day snoozing under his blanket. He is having a charmed and deserving retirement after a tough start. #ProjectGalgo #SpanishHounds #Galgo
So, looking at my unit's work returns. On Friday night, officers from South East Territorial Support Group stopped a man in #Deptford after a search he was found with drugs and a knife.
Well done #U41
So today, some excellent work by one of my teams.
Last night, they were patrolling in Catford Town Centre when a man was seen on CCTV with a large knife.
The team deployed, and the man was detained, and the knife recovered.
Some great work.
I never knew that!
Good to host colleagues today from the USA Portland Police, Oregan & Frisco Police, Texas, as well as Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Discussing Public Order/Public Safety Policing and the Specialist Capabilities that the Met Taskforce brings to Policing London.
Received my Coronation Medal today from Commander Stevens at Bromley.
It's nice to see the Met putting effort into making staff receiving the award feel valued.
Good to see Andy Brittain & have a catch-up, hearing about the impact some of the work the TSG have been doing to support local officers
Officers from the South East Territorial Support Group patrolling in Lewisham today responded to a call involving 4 men with a knife.
After a foot chase, they were detained & several weapons recovered.
I am proud of the men & women I work with who put themselves in harms way to keep people safe.
