On this day in 2012, Labor Prime Minister Julia Gillard delivered her blistering speech on sexism and misogyny, demanding a better standard from men in leadership roles.

08.10.2025 21:11 β π 33 π 12 π¬ 4 π 1Good for u, I reckon be lots of babies flowing down drains if all ya wishes come true.
I'm sticking with the established system, and trying to build on what we have.
Lost me there, good luck
08.10.2025 10:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yeah, nah. Bit dodgy, not a team player particularly when the team promoted him above his expertise. Probably should run as an independent next cycle.

08.10.2025 09:54 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 3 π 0It's a serious comment, I live in the real world, y'all demand masses of energy to power your devices and your clouds and your travel and your flashy houses and your protests to bag our public servants.
Just ignore the actual report, rely on one dissenter, one rich prick from Perth.
Carry on!
I totally understand your frustration; Guess I'm replying because so many posts bag the system without addressing the corruption from providers and medical professionals (I've personally witnessed).
If only we were all honest eh; but I guess that's utopian.
Good luck on your journey.π
I've been offered cash and other benefits to authorise payments above what was provided. I'm an ancient socialist so that didn't go down well. However, I'm aware of the rip-offs and aware that we don't have enough people who 'honestly' advocate for their clients.
And it costs the people in need.
Full time career here, for an adult with long term cognitive issues. I don't have answers for dealing with NDIS, we started at the dawn of the programme and we're cruising. The programme's just way beyond the original budgets, there's so much dishonesty; it's government money so let's get some.
08.10.2025 09:35 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0How? When the scientific report said ' no problem if you follow these guidelines'.
07.10.2025 09:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Do u realise that China is responsible for 30% of the π greenhouse gas production and India 8%, so yeah, it's a good outcome for us all that they reduce, if the reports are accurate, and there's not lots of fact checking in either state
Australia is at 1.5% with a land mass just 0.2% less than China
Though its 1/2 a world away from you Brisbane Australia is rocking right now. The Brisbane Broncos have just won the NRL premiership. Good vibes for Denver.

What sweetheart deal?
NSW rugby league is not the NRL

Read that one also, again no one is denying that Australian manufacturers are involved in supplying components for the F35 our Airforce operates 70+ F35a's and stuff wears out. What no one has supplied is documented evidence that parts made/repaired by Oz companies are sent direct to Isreal.
05.10.2025 21:53 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I read the story you ref to 2 days ago, its a puff piece by a bloke who thrives on conspiracy theories, and hates Labor. There's no documentation to prove his story, if he has authentic documents why not publish. Australian companies supply parts for the F35 and send them to Fort Worth .
05.10.2025 11:08 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0We lucked out with this bloke eh, what a leader. All the rest got is insults and they won't be happy till they break him. Labor people know this, but we desperately need youth in the movement.

05.10.2025 10:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I can't see a win for the people of Gaza; the tonnage of aid they carried would be less than a B Double. When they started their cruise they knew the outcome, or are they that stupid? maybe, I guess they are they're all from privileged backgrounds
04.10.2025 12:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Sure, so work at meaningful solutions within society, within government. Think tankers spend so much energy promoting their own ideology we could power the planet
04.10.2025 12:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0We're living in a time were we have 10 times the thinkers, at 10 times the income, than we have service industry personnel care for the disadvantaged in our community.
If only the thinkers would get off their arses and assist those living tough; I reckon that'll work.
Probs not so much their kids catching the school bus in the dark π¬
04.10.2025 12:10 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That be the one about Albo and Penny not doing enough?
It's like cracked vinyl, 1 1/2 seconds over and over. They all need to get out more; there's real people out there.
Really!! I'd like to see all the 'think tankers' get back in the public service or private enterprise and actually contribute to the GDP through raising productivity. At present they all engage in bagging from the right and left.
04.10.2025 11:52 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It's not being fueled by the current Labor government in Australia. My government is flat out hosing down the hysteria of over immigration.
04.10.2025 11:46 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0That seems dumb to me. We send theirs home and they send ours home and we abandon our citizens in Isreal and Palestine, and Palestinians wanting relocation to Australia.
I fail to see a benefit in stopping dialogue.
