Even when Henson was talking, if he was operating Kermit at the time, the frog was never completely still. You always got the sense that he was just waiting for his turn to talk. Extraordinary.

13.02.2026 00:23 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Thirty-five years ago, Kermit's voice was also Wrong in all the new Muppet content. Any guesses as to why?
11.02.2026 00:23 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0As if I needed another reason to root for Chock and Bates.
09.02.2026 23:40 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I remember Caryn Kadavy not being able to skate her free program in Calgary because she got the flu. And Vincent Zhao having to withdraw because he tested positive for COVID. Viruses are no joke for Olympic contenders.
09.02.2026 20:33 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I just borrow Mame's estimate of her friend Vera Charles's age: "Somewhere between 40 and death!"
09.02.2026 20:13 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Likewise. Not sure I still qualify as young seeing as how I grew up with Kermit 1.0, but thanks the same.
09.02.2026 18:47 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0And you can pick or choose what you like. Stick with what you prefer or open your eyes to new possibilities and take the rough along with the smooth. We all have our favorites but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy new content, even if it's not exactly the same.
09.02.2026 18:35 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0And think of all the reboots we've seen. How many incarnations of Batman, Superman, and Spiderman have we had by now? Just give yourself whatever time you need to adjust.
09.02.2026 18:19 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0So why didn't you and your fellow Senate Rs vote to remove him, dumb@ss?
09.02.2026 16:27 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0If they've been vaccinated, there shouldn't be a problem, right? Oh, wait...
09.02.2026 16:19 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Bernadette Peters was also a lovely guest, and John Denver was practically a Muppet himself. They treated him like family and did at least two specials with him.
09.02.2026 14:14 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Plus, by this time most of the Muppets are on their 2nd or 3rd handler. Dave Goelz may be the only one of the original Muppeteers who still performs his signature character, Gonzo. And I wonder if he's training a successor for the future.
09.02.2026 14:10 โ ๐ 6 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Gifted to him by the actual recipient in one of the most pointless gestures ever.
09.02.2026 13:58 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Agreed. And the same could be said for far too many of his supporters.
09.02.2026 13:56 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I grew up with Henson's Kermit, so yes, Whitmire's was a big adjustment for me. MCC was too soon for me to accept a non-Henson Kermit, but Whitmire grew into the part over the years. Maybe Vogel will too.
09.02.2026 05:31 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I think the guests who fared best on the classic show understood that they'd entered the Muppets' world and were playing by their rules.
09.02.2026 05:26 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0No dance could be more embarrassing or disgusting than the stupid jerking-off thing Shitler does at his rallies, usually to music he has no right to play.

Then it's time to let go of it, so fresh eyes can look it over.
09.02.2026 03:52 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0A generation before you had to transition from Henson's Kermit to Whitmire's Kermit, made even harder by the knowledge that Jim was gone. Adjusting was difficult but doable, given time.

07.02.2026 01:07 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0One guest star on the classic show said that Kermit felt absolutely real when they interacted. And Carol Burnett said she was legit terrified of Animal.
06.02.2026 03:33 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It was a decent effort, and the Muppets felt more like themselves than they have in a while. They still need to find a headwriter as strong as the late Jerry Juhl. But I'd definitely watch more of this incarnation.
06.02.2026 03:12 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The one I'm tired of, simply because it's so overused right now, is the too-cutesy "grumpy-sunshine." There are other ways for a couple to be dramatically different. What's wrong with using "Opposites attract"?
06.02.2026 03:08 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Whitmire was given the time to grow into the role. Vogel should be granted the same chance. Henson's Kermit will always be the definitive one for me, but his successors keep the character going and that's a good thing. Most Muppets are on their 2nd or 3rd handler by this point anyway.
