Here’s the truth about Britain’s immigration hysteria: Starmer and co have whipped it up to get cheap votes | Nesrine Malik He is part of a political establishment that is fuelling a crisis way beyond the point that they can ever be seen to solve it. It’s a cynical, idiotic doom loop, says Guardian columnist Nesrine Malik

“In a grim spiral, Labour continues to fuel the sense of crisis, then chase it, never catching up, and always setting the stage for those further right to make ever bigger promises of crackdown and deranged claims about housing and crime.”

Nesrine Malik nails it once again

I really thought that when I spoke to my MP in May that I got through to him about serious problems with the new EHRC guidance, but he hasn't responded to me in over a month. I've emailed again today. Let's see if @andrewlewinmp.bsky.social stays silent as our rights are stripped from us.

you can always tell when an MP has never been asked to explain themselves on this or that subject, when they spend their whole lives in a circle of dumb authoritarian idiots yes-exactlying each other. they don’t prepare coherent answers to even simple, obvious challenges.

Countries only murder journalists because they want to hide what they're doing. Gaza has become the graveyard of journalists, human rights, international law, red lines, diplomacy, and the UN.

And we cannot forget amongst all of this that the UK government is still supporting the genocidal actions of the Israeli government, providing supplies, weapon parts, security information and aerial observation that are being used in Gaza and the West Bank to destroy the Palestinian people.

Because if the government can proscribe an organisation based on information that it won't release to the public, then they can make the same claims about any other group it deems too challenging to its point of view. Who is next? Climate protestors? Anti-nuclear protestors?

And if the government does have classified information about said group and their activities, then they should release that information for the sake of transparency and clarity. Otherwise it will continue to look like they are using anti-terrorism laws to squash non-violent, direct action groups.

AI is trained on us; as such, it replicates many of our biases. Yet it's treated as objective & unbiased. Dangerous shit.

I think all the government ministers saying that they believe in the right to protest should explain very clearly HOW members of the public CAN protest the proscribing of a group that they believe does not meet the criteria of being a terrorist organisation.

Friendly reminder that the "25 year old minor" is also part of a larger propaganda push to deny abortion and birth control.

It was also part of the same push to keep young people from voting.

They don't believe in us having bodily autonomy. They don't believe in consent.

After the anti-liberal Hungarian government published the Pink Education Report questioning women‘s right to enter higher education, I wrote that the next step will be not to allow women to vote. Voilà!

Yep. Any transphobic measures targeting the trans population will be entirely the responsibility of the Starmer “government” they will be in place because Starmer wants them there.
