Tangent but antihero is weird. I've listened to a couple great interviews on antihero where they clearly valued accuracy & did their homework. then on their extortion 17 episode they just let family members with no SME on to peddle obvious conspiracy theories & not push back at all
Like, I don't doubt he sold out and is repeating conspiracy theories but that's an issue across the whole vet bro podcast industry & a big chunk of American society & that it's only being noticed in the context of figuring out how to target platner is not being done out of concern over antisemitism
There's way more engagement/monetization playing to the outraged RW conspiracists. The algorithm incentives it & there's financial incentives. That said the way the article just throws out antisemitism w/o an example or source is pretty weird and I don't think is being done in good faith

No response huh
Not to sound cynical I think the biggest surprise here is that this information got out. The rich and powerful have always abused those with the least power. No one remembers north fox island or the delta project & that was investigated by law enforcement in several states
how so?
It's not and they're called that for a reason. They think democracy is an impediment to the advancement of a society lead and organized by themselves. Have fun:

Also they like cheap beer and brown liquor so no complicated drink orders
the couple bartenders I chatted up around the LVCC all said the cowboys in for the national finals rodeo are their favorite convention attendees because they're polite and don't get into fights
Who's the president right now & what limitations did any of those wins have on his power?
How many of those guys are in prison right now? And when was the last time the minimum wage actually went up?
Gonna be honest with you I think you have a rosy and myopic view of a party that has proven resistant to doing basically anything that's popular with the base & failed spectacularly at holding anyone in trump 1 accountable at a time when it was widely popular
I don't think it's preemptive surrender to say that the entire democratic party establishment is fundamentally disconnected from the desires of the base. Leadership does not want to admit that Trump is building the infrastructure to end democracy, the base has pretty clearly noticed it happening.
this is at best tangentially related but that guy doxxed a friend of mine in the 10th mountain because he posted that the GWOT presidents should be tried for war crimes. CID/SS got involved before the whole thing fell apart on account of it clearly being conducted by room temperature IQ groypers
The old knight who teamed up with Dany is a good example. Him dying doesn't make the show bad. But the scene where he dies in a generic fight because the script says so does because there's no intent. The sons of the harpy don't figure out how to fight a guy in plate or learn guerilla warfare
Incompetent execution ruins competent designs all the time. The show runners saw all the other properties offered to them and stopped giving a shit about finishing the show out which ironically is what got all those offers quietly rescinded
Put another way there are beliefs one can internalize and act on that are dangerous but I can't put much stock in ideologies that claim the act of learning about different forms of belief is itself dangerous or indoctrination
A lot of current republican ideology/rhetoric goes straight back to JBS and Buchanan & to that crowd the classes clearly infected us all with the woke cultural marxist mind virus by mere virtue of us being in the room. & they would rather dismantle higher ed than have anyone learn wrongthink
I think about this a lot because I was in some of those classes 10 years ago & was very confused as to anyone would endorse the use that language outside of the ivory tower of academia. Fwiw I got a lot out of said classes but it was tools for critical analysis not the language used
When people talk about PTSD do you insist it's called shellshock in your world
