Me trying to stop myself from buying more video games that I won’t play for 6 months.

I’ve never been so exhausted and disconnected before at my job. It genuinely feels like no matter how hard I try, nothing I do will EVER be good enough.

Ok real talk, why isn’t the combination of 4*Town and Mei’s family singing together during the ritual for Mei’s mom a song on the Turning Red soundtrack? It is such a catchy mix.

I hate being in this position where having ADHD is making my job so difficult. I hate feeling like I need to choose between feeding my child or taking medication. I know it’s only impacting me more right now because my brain is still a mess and recovering from giving birth 6 months ago. 😔

Blessings in disguise: My students have been totally silent watching “Charlotte’s Web” during 10 minute bathroom breaks. The quietest part of their day. BLESS.

Today, I cleaned and vacuumed my living room, which had previously been destroyed by my 4 year old, and now we are decorating our Christmas tree together. 🫶🏻🎄

Going out Black Friday shopping with my mom and sister today. I don’t really know how this shopping and pumping is going to work as this is my first time being a breastmilk mama, but I’ll figure it out. Wish me luck. 🫠

Nobody told me how isolating and lonely being a breastmilk mama would be. Being stuck in my classroom 3 times a day to pump, not being able to get out and socialize if I wish… It gets draining. But I don’t plan on stopping. My baby needs whatever I can give her, and I intend to keep doing so.

Today, I am thankful that my husband will get up in the morning with the baby and let me sleep in on the weekends. 🫶🏻

Busy busy night prepping cupcakes for my daughter’s birthday party tomorrow and cooking dinner at the same time. Feels good to have time and energy to do this. 🥰 It’s been so long since I’ve been able to cook and/or bake in the kitchen.

I’m 3 months postpartum and still wearing my maternity jeans. Why? Because my body hasn’t fully bounced back yet, but I’m not embarrassed. I’m still healing, and I’ll get there with time and exercise. What matters is me and my little one are happy and healthy.

End of quarter 1 means I’m bringing home like 10,000 assignments to grade this weekend. 💀

Celebrating the Good in My Life #11: My daughter came home after a sleepover with my husband’s mom’s and gave me pictures she painted just for me. 🥰

Supplementing with a little bit of formula to keep her tummy full so she (and I) can sleep is necessary sometimes. That’s a hard lesson for me to learn because I’m so afraid of my supply going away when I’ve worked so hard to get it in the first place. But I have to take care of me, too.

I love being able to nurse my newborn, don’t get me wrong. But getting only 3, maybe 4 hours of sleep a night because I’m awake from 1 or 1:30 in the morning onward because she’s a snacker and keeps falling asleep but won’t stay asleep is dwindling down my sanity.
