I gave in and got Procreate Dreams last night, I want to relearn animation and get more into animatics this year.

Im still struggling a bit with the interface and the Timeline, but not more than the usual when getting used to a new program.

Id love one day to include animatics in my games.

I think one of the things I find more frustrating about game making is I can work for months and have nothing I can share, especially when its programming.

Finally got past a bump in Catrina's Halloween Nightmare remake plot, plus a couple of problems I had with the third and final game.

recently my friend's comics professor told her that it's acceptable to use gen AI for script-writing but not for art, since a machine can't generate meaningful artistic work. meanwhile, my sister's screenwriting professor said that they can use gen AI for concept art and visualization, but that it won't be able to generate a script that's any good. and at my job, it seems like each department says that AI can be useful in every field except the one that they know best. It's only ever the jobs we're unfamiliar with that we assume can be replaced with automation. The more attuned we are with certain processes, crafts, and occupations, the more we realize that gen AI will never be able to provide a suitable replacement. The case for its existence relies on our ignorance of the work and skill required to do everything we don't.

A close friend tried launching a plushie and as far as I remember there is not really a downside if you dont make it, they refund everyone that did purchase and I think you have to wait a bit till you try it again? But that’s it, they are pretty chill in my experience.

Yup anyone can, you can contact someone at Makeship in their website and they’ll explain everything in detail. The only downside is you do need to reach a certain big amount of pre-sales to actually get to make said plushie real.

Respect my work and I’ll respect yours.

Respect indie game devs as much as you’d respect any other big studio game devs, we are working just as hard.

I love constructive criticism, Ive learned a LOT watching streamers play my games, I remember the kind ones and I am happy to gift free copies for future games and I’ve done so.

But if you said something rude for the sake of it, or mock my work, you bet I will remember that too.

Friendly word of advice for small game streamers that play small devs games.
If you upload a video playing my games, its Very likely I’ll see it because most time, I don’t get many gameplays.

After much thinking I decided I do not feel comfortable participating in gamejams that allow genAI to be used.
At this point of time genAI is very unregulated with tons of stolen work from artists of all kinds, there’s no excusing its use, and makes me anxious to have my work associated near it.

About to pull another JHN as in, Im frustrated and creative blocked so Im going to make a simple horror game in one month and not care if it makes sense or not.

Also wanna do something bloody for a change.

Creative solidarity means:

If you're a writer, do not use AI "art" or AI "voiceover"
If you're an artist, do not use AI "writing" or AI "references"
If you're a streamer/actor, do not use AI for backdrops, thumbnails, etc.

Never help AI steal another medium

No excuses, no shortcuts, no surrender.

Idk who needs to hear this, but talking to blorbo on the plagerism machine is crossing the picket line.
