There is no way that the moderate Liberals can regain control of the party with the way that global politics is playing out...

The moderate Liberals need to break from the conservatives and form a new centre-right party. This would inevitably take votes from both Labor and the Teals, whilst forcing conservatives to choose between ONP, Nats or the conservative Libs. It would change the face of Australian politics...

Remember to always keep your boundaries. If you relax your boundaries for others then they will take over your space and push you out.
Just make sure that your boundaries are realistic and not idealistic. If you are excluding others due to your ideology, then you are likely the one in the wrong.

And so they should be. The burden will be placed on the families, especially single parent families and those where partners are both working.
They have to make sure that there is a clear pathway forward for it's not going to do much more than add stress...

Of course, that doesn't solve the problem. The problem is being forced on you, and the only solution is to keep on fighting.
But the opponent is society itself, which minimises your existence - or uses your existence to support a trope or caricature of your lived reality...

But you're at home with family at the same time.
You have to compartmentalise all of those fight or flight reactions when reading the news or social media, and mask them so that you can function on a daily basis.

And unlike a front-line rotation, this is constant - you never know when the next assault will come. You develop hypervigilence as a survival mechanism, and this primes your nervous system. You react as a survival mechanism.

They call it complex PTSD because there is never one defining moment...
The bigotry and disdain that trans folk receive is near constant when they pile their heads above the trenches.
It feels like I've been fighting for the last 8 years, and I can't see an end to the battle.

I read an article on ABC last night that contained an interview with my last manager in geology. After being party to my redundancy in 2019 (6 months after coming out), he chose a large pay out when that company was bought out by their joint venture partner. With the shares he was given in performance bonuses, he was able to buy a 2 million dollar house... Anyway, the interview made a comment that he was "parachuted" into his current role. I believe that those are his words being parroted by the reporter. I'm certain from his perspective that it is an apt analogy, as he has a network of people who would get a role for him, it ignores the fact that he assisted in pushing people out of the plane in attempts to lighten the load before parachutes were needed... Given that I had known him for over a decade prior, and there are people we both know, and that he was pissed off with the way that I came out, after ignoring multiple attempts on part to start a conversation with him about timing, it brought out some rather unpleasant feelings in me...

Speech box 2: "Yes... he was the generous sort of soul who would misgender me, point out when others misgendered me (but never overtly correct them), and only gendered me correctly in the email announcing that I had been let go and it was my final day... made redundant in a role that I was occupying to fill in for a lady on maternity leave... who returned to the role 3 months later..." with a grim face emoji as a response

What really fucken sucks is that being who you are shouldn't entail being made destitute - which I would be if the inheritance from my mother's estate. But there's a limit to that which is drawing near...

She's a good fluff-ball. Not interested in chasing sticks or balls, but loves going on bush walks. She prefers having her people around rather than other dogs.
If ASD was diagnosed in dogs, I suspect she would be on the spectrum. A good fit for our neurospicy household!

Over the last week I have come to understand how trauma has shaped my life.
I was thinking that it hadn't, then my brain reminded me of the half dozen violent assaults, in addition to dozens of episodes of verbal abuse, and I revised my thinking...

And this is the reason why traumatic events can induce PTSD, and cPTSD...

I just wish that both Out In Perth and The Star Observer had chosen to write their articles on it in such a way that they:
1) didn't repeat harmful tropes used without explaining why they are harmful;
2) didn't sound like an advertisement for it.

I expect better from them both

Hate speech against any group is unjustifiable... What a surprise that those who must actually take some responsibility for the propagation of hate speech are reluctant for sweeping changes...

In 2022 I started tracking changes in how news outlets were describing trans people, and set up a bot to record every article pushed to the Google News index based on a handful of search phrases, including “biological sex” in both the US and UK. The amount in 2023 alone was absolutely staggering.

Same low-lifes who target Jews spread hate about LGBTQI+ ​Imagine if leaflets were being dropped in Perth's suburbs exposing specific residents as Jews, accusing them of drug-dealing and sex trafficking. Imagine if this doxxing included photos of the accused and gave out their home address. ​Imagine if police said there was little they could do and it was a civil matter. ​Imagine if five teenage boys in Perth were jailed for "planned and pre-mediated" attacks on Jews, with one victim punched, tasered and threatened with drowning. ​Imagine if an anti-Semitic group tore down Jewish festival posters and Israeli flags, called for Jewish books to be banned from the library, harassed librarians over the issue and called a public meeting to claim that Jews are a threat to children. ​Imagine if neo-nazis protested out front of Jewish community events, hurling abuse and waving placards as families came and went from the venue with their children. ​These things did not happen to Jewish West Australians. They are recent examples of hate speech and hate-motivated violence targeting LGBTIQA+ people in WA. The rising tide of hate speech and assaults on LGBTIQA+ people around Australia is alarming. ​The same neo-nazis who seek to eradicate Jews bring the same menace to people who are transgender. ​One important lesson from the Bondi shootings is that the Government shouldn't wait until attacks escalate before taking tough action against hate and those who promote it. Do we need a similar massacre of LGBTIQA+ people before this legislation is broadened to include us? ​We must combat anti-Semitism with every tool at our disposal. The Executive Council of Australian Jewry agrees and has criticised the current Bill's exclusion of sexual orientation and gender identity as "a significant failing". ​Federal Parliament must seize the opportunity and moral obligation to bring consistency, clarity and comprehensiveness to laws against hate speech and hate motivated violence.

It highlights how horrendous recent attacks on trans folk in WA are by reframing them as if against Jews.

This is why changes to hate speech legislation must cover all groups, not just some.

Until the individual States start to respond with more than words against the federal government, nothing's going to improve.

Vehicles are not registered for use in urban or rural areas only... And while there are a small number of 4WD vehicles that don't go out of the city (especially in Perth, likely higher in Sydney or Melbourne), most go out in both urban and rural settings...

Trans folk totally did not see this coming and totally did not warn the rest of the community back when the sights were set on the trans community... 🙄

Reduced social cohesion and trust in federal leadership is the only outcome unless all forms of hate speech are included and the recommendations actioned against the identified perpetrators. The bad actors and their enablers must be stopped. There is no consequence-free speech!

It's only the right decision if the royal commission investigates all forms of hate speech... otherwise it's an expensive kangaroo commission that will fail in the long term objective of reducing hate speech and discrimination against all people in Australia...

The world is changing, and not for the better. The odds of WWIII occurring within the next 10 years have gone up. In fact, I will be surprised if we even get another 5 years before it happens.

And the shit thing is that this was a last ditch attempt to get the pain under control as nothing else has worked.

Ahhhh.... The feeling of medication induced weight gain! 5kg in 6 weeks.
I've gone from healthy to overweight in the desire to be free of pain, and the result is a 50% reduction of pain most of the time at maximum dose... fml
