Just leaving a townhall with my house rep @scanlon.house.gov. I couldn't be more frustrated. While she names events the 🍊🍑🕳️ admin is doing to erode democracy, she carefully avoids calling a coup a coup or framing them as an authoritarian regime. She thinks status quo politics will save us. It won't.
@scanlon.house.gov I’m urging you to sign Rep. Luna’s discharge petition to force a vote on banning congressional stock-trading. This is a public-confidence issue, not a partisan one. Your constituents are watching please be a leader on the right side of this movement.
I just saw @fetterman.senate.gov interviewed on MSNBC. 2 things he said raised my eyebrow. #1 he's sad that his constituents are disappointed in him. Suir, you're not disappointing us, you're betraying us. #2 he used his wonderful wive's work against food insecurity as cover for last night's vote.

Everybody please look for for ways to support folks in your local community affected by the shutdown. those who need services and those furloughed who still have bills. My area has folks who are strong at organizing. helping each other is how we help the Democrats resist authoritarianism.
I might be naive, but I take a lot of optimism from the reaction of those military guys yesterday at Trump's speech. I take their silence and refusal to applaud when asked to etc. as a sign that many of them have a conscience and will be guided by it, if/when they get ordered to turn on us.
