I’m grateful to the Oxford Mail for continuing to highlight challenges with local postal deliveries.
I’ll keep pushing for our posties to be listened to, and local residents to get the services they deserve.

Wonderful to see the Ultimate Picture Palace has made it onto TimeOut's top 50 best cinemas list!
Thank you to everyone who works so hard to keep our city's oldest and community-owned cinema going 👉 www.timeout.com/film/the-50-best-cinemas-in-the-uk-and-ireland
Thanks to all the local residents in the Hill Top Road area who opened their doors to @oxfordlabour.bsky.social yesterday.
It was also great to see the community @freecycle.bsky.social going so well, bringing people out to chat with their neighbours and reducing landfill.
This International Women’s Day, I argued for @thefabians.bsky.social that we must
🏆️ Celebrate amazing women
⏫️ Push for more action
💪 Protect against the global rollback

I know that many local residents are concerned about electric scooters, especially when they are used in dangerous ways and parked across pavements.
I therefore recently met with Voi to discuss these issues and other matters relating to their operations in Oxford 👇
Congratulations to Aimee McKenzie who has been appointed as OUFC's new Chief Operating Officer.
Looking forward to seeing her work on the delivery of a new stadium for the Yellows at the Kidlington Triangle, especially as the S106 agreement and full & final planning approval has been granted!
♾️ Numerous more visits to local sorting offices
✉️ And countless emails to raise concerns on behalf of individual residents.
I’ll keep pushing for our posties to be listened to, and local residents to get the service they deserve. 3/3
I have been pushing for improvements for many years, so this is much welcome:
📢 Public meeting held last spring, followed by more recruitment and NHS letters prioritised
🕵️♀️ Secret visit to East Oxford sorting office uncovering heaps of undelivered mail documented by BBC Panorama 2/3
Many residents are still contacting me about issues with Royal Mail.
It’s right that Royal Mail bosses have now been called to Parliament to answer for shortcomings in service. 1/3
What do you think about children’s safety online? What should be done?
Come and discuss this issue with me on Friday 20th March between 7.30-8.30pm.
RSVP by email to anneliese.dodds.casework@parliament.uk to make sure you get a chance to join us.
Hundreds of constituents have contacted me with their views about children’s’ social media use. The consultation has now opened - see www.gov.uk/government/c...
Then over to Glasgow Anniesland with Councillor Eunis Jassemi. Eunis is local and already working hard for residents as a councillor. He’d be a strong voice for Anniesland residents in the Scottish Parliament.
Then we were off to a cafe in Springburn so @paulsweeney.bsky.social could get his chips and gravy!
Then it was up to Scotland to knock on doors for the brilliant @paulsweeney.bsky.social in Springburn. Lots of residents were pleased to hear they’ll be in the driving seat for the Pride in Place funding, which Paul and @maureenburke.bsky.social have brought to the area.
There were beautiful views when I was out on the #LabourDoorstep in Caerdydd Penarth - and it was great to be right in the heart of Ruba Sivagnanam’s ward! Thanks also to friends from @cardifflabstudents.bsky.social for coming out to campaign.
The Pen-y-Bont Bro Morgannwg @welshlabour.bsky.social Senedd team, led by the great @sarah4bridgend.bsky.social, are working hard in Barry and beyond. It was great to catch up with them, and my friends Kanishka Narayan MP, Huw David, Carys Stallard, @helenpayne.bsky.social and @janehutt.bsky.social
It was good to get out on the road this half term to support some great @UKLabour candidates.
I had a lovely evening with many of the Senedd candidates for Sir Fynwy Torfaen in Abergavenny. Good luck to @anthonypantegward.bsky.social , Laura, Cathrin, Su and everyone in Lynne Neagle's team.
Representation, not red tape. ❌
Today, most of the Tories' 2016 Trade Union Act was scrapped, removing restrictions designed to tie unions up in knots.
Now our unions can get on with representing members and fighting for better pay and conditions. labourunions.org.uk/deliverinfull/
Happy Lunar New Year to all in Oxford celebrating the arrival of the year of the Fire Horse
Ramadan Mubarak from me to all my Muslim constituents in Oxford East
I was really pleased to see all the great activities going on at Donnington Doorstep. From play drop-ins to lunches to intergenerational meet-ups, there's a lot happening and more to come!
Find out more details here www.donnington-doorstep.org.uk
Thank you to @blairmcdougall.com , the Minister with responsibility for postal services, for acting on the concerns I’ve raised with him about local postal services.
I’ll keep pushing for Oxford East to have the reliable and consistent service we deserve
Good to be out speaking with residents in Osney and St Thomas on Sunday morning with local campaigner David Calonge and councillor extraordinaire Susanna Pressel.
All year round, @oxfordlabour.bsky.social are on your doorstep and on your side 🌹
Travelling by train tonight or this weekend? Here’s a quick update on the Oxford railway station works 🎥
The war in Sudan is a war on civilians.
The UK must keep pushing for an end to the suffering - and for civilians’ voices to be heard.
Throwback to 2017, when I was campaigning for fair pay and the Oxford Living Wage alongside @oxfordlabour.bsky.social
It’s brilliant to see that over 180 local businesses have signed up since then, and will be paying local people at least £14.06/hour to reflect the real cost of living in our city.
I'll continue to push to ensure the bridge is replaced and the Oxford Flood Alleviation Scheme is unlocked.
As I've said in Parliament to Government ministers, the replacement of Kennington Rail Bridge is essential to enable local people to continue getting around, to support local jobs, homes, and our environment.
Kennington Rail Bridge is vital to Oxford's economy and community, and its replacement is an urgent priority. Last week, I visited the site along with Layla Moran and County Council representatives to see just how urgent this replacement is.

Upgrading homes is one of the best ways to bring down bills for good. Home insulation installations dropped by over 90% between 2010 and 2024 – Labour is turning that around with the Warm Homes Plan.
