Smeared the inside of the F hole with gel superglue to make the wood less porous, mounted the battery holder using the Alien Tape.
Can’t see the battery unless looking down inside the F hole, and with a mini screwdriver, even my fat digits can get the battery in and out with minimum hassle. 👍

I’m probably throwing good money after bad and this is turning into the most expensive “cheap bass guitar” ever, but I’m determined to make this damn thing work. ✊

The buffer uses an internal voltage pump to run at 18v, so there should be plenty of of headroom without distortion, and it will give me up to 10db +/- boost.

It looks small enough where I can place everything inside the body through the F holes (including a battery) and not have to do any surgery.

It’s a semi hollow body.
It SHOULD be getting FAT bass tones all damn day.

I’m going to get the Delano “Sonar XPure” buffer/line driver, and wire it in with a volume pot, and a push/pull tone pot to have the option of passive/active.

Output was low, signal distorted when played hard, and it didn’t sound very “full”. Almost like a Rickenbacker, which is not my favorite bass tone.

Brought it to band rehearsal last night to hear how it sounded loud and in a band context and was sadly disappointed.
Probably the first bass I’ve modded where I was bummed with it.
