Today the Treasury Committee has launched a inquiry into the student loan repayment system, and I went on BBC Breakfast this morning to talk about why it's so important. We have to make sure this system is fair for everyone, and we’d like to hear from young people in particular.

I am a Member of Parliament today in part because of the brilliant work from groups supporting women in politics, like the Labour Womens’ Network, and the work of so many other amazing women who we celebrate on International Women’s Day.

I was also glad to hear her comments on deepening our alliances with Europe – this is crucial to bring down the cost of food and turn around the damage done by the Conservatives' bungled Brexit deal. (3/3)

The Bank of England credits her measures, such as the cut to energy prices from April, with helping to bring inflation back on track. We need to stay vigilant and help shield constituents from global price shocks. (2/3)

Stability of status is what enabled my parents to plan for the future and to give me a proper education. I took part in the parliamentary debate on Indefinite Leave to Remain to emphasise the importance of this stability for immigrant families who are already here.

Today's GDP figures show a much needed pickup in real GDP per capita - 2025 was the first year this measure grew for three years. In April, energy bill reductions from the 2025 Budget will come into effect, tackling inflation and bringing the cost of living down.

Delivering that change will also require a Cabinet and front bench that reflect the breadth of views across the Parliamentary Labour Party and the diverse traditions that make up our movement, strengthening both unity and effectiveness as we move forward.

At the same time, we must recognise that the public rightly expects change to be felt more quickly, especially in our economy and in living standards.

When the government has deviated from our Labour values, it has made errors, but this Labour Government has begun the serious work of changing the country and delivering the national renewal we promised voters in 2024.

Turning inward to a leadership contest now would be both wrong and counterproductive when there is still so much vital work ahead. Our focus should remain on delivering the change voters asked for, not distracting ourselves from it.

State recognition has given Husam and his staff new diplomatic protections and righted a historical injustice left over from Britain’s colonial rule of Palestine, but we must do more to rebuild Gaza, and to put the ceasefire on a path towards a two-state solution. (3/3)

The Tribune Group is one of the largest groups of Labour MPs in Parliament. @drbeccycoopermp.bsky.social and I spoke to PoliticsHome about why we got involved and what we’d like to do in 2026 – working together on policy, campaigning for our members, and a big 60th anniversary party!

One constituent, Sunil, even told me: "we are literally throwing our money down the drain to these crooks and they know they can take advantage of no regulation.”

Today in Parliament I asked the government to help crack down on property management companies who are charging unfair and expensive fees to residents.

In 2025, I heard from more than 650 residents with complaints about their property management agencies.
