Feral cats to be added to Predator Free 2050
The Government is delivering on its campaign promise to add feral cats to the Predator Free 2050 target species list to protect our precious native wildlife, Conservation Minister Tama Potaka says.
#NewZealand has officially added #feralcats to its #PredatorFree2050 program. Cats have already contributed to the extinction of 63 species of #birds, #mammals, and #reptiles. Cat owners can help do their part by keeping their #CatsIndoors.

This might help: Bonnington et al. (2013) found the mere presence of a cat in the environment reduced food provided to chicks in the nest by 1/3 and increased the likelihood of nest predation by an order of magnitude.
Cats don't have to directly kill to have an impact.
