This is a long-winded way of saying Sometimes That Radioactively Toxic Pairing Has Compelling Narrative Importance But Saying "I Ship It" Has Too Many Positive (Affectionate And/Or Derogatory) Connotations And Does Not At All Capture My Thoughts On It

Or maybe I'm overthinking the phrase idfk

I need a phrase for "these two have SOMETHING going on that is intrinsically tied to who they are as characters and ignoring it would be a disservice, but I only care about it enough to acknowledge its importance and then move on to the ship I ACTUALLY care about"

For me "I ship it" is for the ships that you can envision an endgame for, canonically doomed or not. Some part of you *wants* it to succeed/have succeeded at some point, even if you know it doesn't or can't. It *could've* worked if not for xyz. Or it *does* work and they deserve to be together.

There are some ships where "I ship it" doesn't feel like the right phrase. Because objectively yeah they DO have smth going on, but "I ship it" typically implies some level of either cuteness aggression or psychic damage over it being tragically doomed and/or perhaps wishing it wasn't. In my eyes.

In addition to be overjoyed that Mamdani won, I'm incredibly relieved that a serial sexual abuser lost.

But also sometimes my audio processing is fucky or the person speaking is very mumbly and then I remember why I turn on the subtitles by default

I love watching things with subtitles but I hate that I read so fast that I ruin punchlines or reveals for myself. More subtitles need to be timed in such a way that even if someone (me) reads the lines faster than they're spoken, the surprising part isn't shown until the moment it's spoken.

To be clear the like spam isn't a complaint, it was the perceived randomness of which videos were liked that confused me.

This theory came from liking and saving one (1) video on my fyp, scrolling, and then liking another from the same account. And another. And another. And now I get.

Sometimes I'll get confused when I see one tiktok user liking/saving a bunch of my videos and be confused by the lack of chronology, under the assumption that they're scrolling my account and liking as they go, when it's more likely they liked one (1) vid on their fyp and now I keep showing up there
