🛋️ Living Room Level Release 🌴

Jump into the newest level of A Webbing Journey and uncover the mystery of the ancient spiders. Ten new quests await you, where you catch flies, feed the fish, prepare the perfect movie night, and much more.

And of course, new cosmetic items 👠

We upgraded our flies by adding wing animations, the possibility to ride them, and maybe eating them 🪰🍴

Since we already have the fish food in the level, it just makes sense to let the shroomp eat it too, creating even more chaos.

I no longer think that giving the flies random movement was a good idea. Every time I playtest this quest, I'm always destroying the room trying to catch these little monsters. Btw. the fly is on the left side. 😅

For today's video, I strapped a camera to one of the flies in our new level, and I like the recording so much that I just have to post it as a standalone video. I hope you like it too 😉

It's a little embarrassing that it took us so long to implement this obvious feature for our spider game. But you will soon be able catch flies. 🪰🕸️

I finally fixed this annoying issue for our piano which enabled so many cool new ways to use it 🤩

I never thought I would add a full-on functional grand piano in a spider game, but man, do I have a lot of fun playing around with that thing 🤩

We finally added containers for our fish food and also added food to change the fish to a random color 🔴🟠🟡🟢🔵🟣

We've gone full circle with our flying fish 🐟🪽

New fish food types have been implemented, which makes your fish very speedy and very jumpy

That's something we tried, but it just caused more issues than bringing improvements. The first thing that immediately happens is the web colliding with the object it's attached to. On top of that we would need to implement the web wrapping around objects which introduces even more issues

Yeah, there are pathfinding algorithms, but they are mainly designed for NPCs walking on the ground. As soon as you have flying NPCs or our spider that can walk upside down, those algorithms tend to break and you have to program something yourself.

Added growing and shrinking effects to our fish food 🐟
