I let my kids climb the slide if we are the only ones there but not if there are other kids there. Unless all the kids are climbing up then the rule is anyone going down has right of way.

Our daycare the last two years did them and I was so annoyed about it. Hoping that public school this year means we won’t have to!

My preschooler started preschool on September 8th and will not have a full week of full school days until the week of October 6th. And that week my kindergartner has a half day for conferences. I think the first week that both kids have a full week of school will be October 20th.

I literally just rewatched the whole show after not having watched any since the finale aired (which I was so mad about at the time)… And I gotta say that 10 years later it’s actually fine and I cried. Now my beef with it is that they in theory live in NYC but they take cabs WAY too much.

I use a local independent insurance broker who helps with anything we need-so far I have not had to call the instance bc he does it for me. Worth asking around to see if anyone in your area knows someone.

I think it’s 24 hours in the fridge as long as the baby hasn’t drunk out of it which they wouldn’t be doing with the pitcher method. Downside would be that it’s cold, but warming it doesn’t take much longer than making a bottle.

Could you make the pitcher method work for you? Where you batch make a larger amount at the beginning of the day and then dole it out in small amounts?

I played one from the Apple App Store called “Logic Grid Puzzles” that was fine. I did finish it all before I was done with breast feeding but it was a nice change from ebooks.

After I stopped breastfeeding my baby this would happen to me and I had never experienced anything like it before! Eventually I figured out that it was always when I was ovulating and started taking some hormone regulating supplements rec’d by my midwife that seemed like bs but did in fact work. 🤷‍♀️

Is there a local parent group on Facebook that you could ask? There are a number of hospitals near us so people ask all the time about the differences and for info from other parents who have gone to the various ones.

Just an anecdote, but I’ve noticed at my kids’ preschool all the teachers are referred to as Ms firstname regardless of their marital status.

It’s hard! It sucks! My best advice is to tie a rope-like something to the foot of your bed to use by pulling yourself along it with your arms when sitting up to get out because you cannot use your core muscles at all. Also a step stool next to the bed with a handle to hold onto.

There’s a joke told often in SD about how the explorers who named it were writing to the French mapmakers and said “pier” bc it’s on a river and the mapmakers were like “well these stupid explorers obviously don’t know how to spell and meant the name Pierre”

I have told multiple people that I could do the newborn phase again no problem. It’s 12m (or whenever they start walking) to about 22m that I don’t know if I could handle again.

Ok the bad news on this is that it’s been spreading for weeks before anyone had symptoms and also is contagious for weeks after symptoms are done 😬😬😬
