Holding back was dangerous. Titus moved a little closer. What happened next was entirely up to Leonora, as she stared at him, her own power more in control, and much stronger, than he thought it would be. Maybe Anne taught her how to use the rest of the Council too, but they were all still standing.

A smile to annoy Titus, as Julian finally flung everything at him, using both hands to wrap it around him tightly. Of course it wouldn't be enough. Right then it wasn't meant to be. That would come later, when Titus had actually made his first real move, because he was still playing.

Pulling the power off, furious with the game Leonora played, Titus moved forward, his own attack bouncing off the shield around her. She needed to be dead, and that meant taking everything from her. Once he'd done that the other Embers would regret her choice. It was time he dealt with them.

Alina sits next to Melanie at the kitchen island. The lollipop, that Tasha couldn't eat, is sitting on the island. Tasha has turned around so that she has her back to Alina and Melanie.
While Tasha is grumpy, Alina explains to her wife that this bug isn't an insect, but rather a way of saying that the simulation has a bit of a hiccup. Melanie, who doesn't know much about technology, doesn't really understand what her wife's talking about, but at least she feels less concerned.

Anne moved at exactly the right moment. Julian said she'd know, and she did, her hand touching his back when Titus tried to break Julian's shield. It was a sign he was prepared to finally fight, but what he hadn't been expecting was Anne to truly be able to do something to help Leonora.

As Anne pressed her hand to Leonora's back Titus was flung backwards, just able to gain control of the moment before he smashed into the bookcase. How was that possible? Titus stared at his sister, seeing the link between the two of them he'd entirely missed before. Where did it come from?
