Review You, With A View By Jessica Joyce I am in love with Jessica Joyce's writing. There is something so raw and poignant about it. It digs it roots into you and takes hold. It makes you feel in ways you wish every book would. It's simply phenomenal. She is an absolute master of Single POV. The way she can tell a story from only one perspective, and still make you feel the emotions of every character is so impressive. At no point in this book do you feel as though Noelle is an unreliable narrator. And Noelle is such a relatable character. You feel her anguish, her curiosity, her sense of floundering. You feel her losing herself, and also finding herself again. She is so real it's almost painful. Joyce also keeps Theo mysterious, while also showing his entire hand when it comes to his angst and yearning. This man YEARNS. I know it. He knows it. Grandpa Paul knows it. Yet somehow, Noelle doesn't know it. And the journey these two go on to get from former high school 'nemesis' to love, is so fun and rewarding. Mixed with the story Noelle and Theo are learning about their grandparents, this book is among the most unique stories I've read. I was so captivated by the the first love of their grandparents and how it unfolded. And I am obsessed with Grandpa Paul. He is a treasure. And a menace. He was such a highlight of this story. I will read anything Jessica Joyce writes. Probably more than once. This book is absolutely going on my reread list. It's perfect and you should read it too. Read January 3-5, 2025
