a photograph taken from a rear choir loft balcony of a 1960s-era protestant church sanctuary room. the roof is not quite as steep as an A-frame typically is; the roof and beams are right triangles pointing to the sky. the ceiling is paneled with wooden beams of a soothing, dark tone. the support beams of the roof are of a darker color and are arrayed like compasses marching toward the viewer along the center line of the room until they pass overhead, behind and out of view.
one lighting sconce hangs from each side of each ceiling beam, emitting a too-white shade of light and casting a glare upon the handsome wood paneling of the ceiling.
the walls on either side of the room are low and lined with stained glass of an appropriately angular motif; the colors are vivid but the windows allow plenty of white light into the room.
the carpet is of some sort of a jade green tone with some discoloration, wear and faded spots.
the roomba is resting out of view by the left front exit door.

Dear Jason,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts regarding immigration enforcement. Your feedback is essential as we work together to shape policies that benefit Pennsylvania and our country.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), a component of the Department of Homeland Security, is responsible for enforcing the nation’s immigration laws. Within ICE, Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) identifies, arrests, and detains noncitizens who violate the Immigration and Nationality Act (P.L. 82-414). Under federal law (8 U.S.C. §§ 1226 and 1357), immigration officers have the authority to apprehend and detain individuals who are unlawfully present in the United States.

On July 4, 2025, President Trump signed into law the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBB) (P.L. 119-21), a budget reconciliation bill I supported that authorizes $165 billion in new funding for the Department of Homeland Security, including $29.9 billion for ICE enforcement and deportation operations. These resources will enable the federal government to comply with statutory immigration enforcement mandates in an efficient and lawful manner.

The federal government has a responsibility to enforce immigration laws. I support President Trump’s efforts to restore order at the southern border, uphold the rule of law, and protect American communities. This includes detaining and removing inadmissible individuals who pose a threat to public safety and national security. My office remains committed to ensuring that established standards and appropriate due process are upheld through careful oversight and ongoing engagement with DHS.

It is an honor and a privilege to serve our great Commonwealth in the United States Senate. I appreciate having the benefit of your comments on this important matter. I am always grateful to hear from my constituents.

Sincerely,

Dave McCormick
U.S. Senator

U.S. Sen. Dave McCormick (PA) supports what ICE is doing to our fellow citizens, in case you had any doubt.

So if ICE throws you on the ground, crashes into your car, or arrests your kid's teacher, just remember it's OK with Dave.
