Just so happens that ~25% of workers were unionized in 1979. Today? 10%.

As unions declined, the super-rich have taken a larger share of wealth generated by labor. We must build back union power.

If you're 60, 69.1% of all job growth since your birth occurred under Democratic administrations.

If you're 45, that number is 74.7%.

If you're under 28, the number is 100%.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but an economy controlled by a handful of oligarchs isn't a "free market."

As someone who has lived my whole adult life in cities deemed “dangerous”—NYC, NOLA, and SF—I think a lot about how dense cities require patience, calm, and tolerance in the midst of social difference, which are of course exactly the civic virtues that the right resents being told to cultivate.

The American people need protection from those who seek to exploit the workers for every last penny. 

Some call this view democratic socialism. 

I call it fair.

It’s like West Virginia was starved for representation. For someone to just come. Bernie did and my fellow West Virginians are in love.

The financial economy is immersed in the kind of wild gambling we saw leading up to the 2008 financial crisis. 

We’re seeing it all over again — this time with crypto, meme stocks, junk bonds, and investors pumping up shares of AI stocks without knowing what it is.

Be warned.

AI could be a tool that's used for good. Or it could be a tool that's used to pad corporate profits at the expense of workers.

None of this is inevitable.

The question is will we continue to allow a handful of people to decide the future for us?

The challenges we now face must be met by a bold progressive populist movement that strengthens democracy and shakes up the system.

We can’t simply return to the path we were on before Trump.

We cannot accept the status quo of Big Money dominating our politics and economy.

The CEO-to-worker pay ratio for S&P 500 companies was 285-to-1 last year.

And now these CEOs will get a tax cut of roughly $500K thanks to Trump’s big, ugly bill — 639x more than the median U.S. worker.

Is it any wonder so many people think the system is rigged?
