If not, stop what you're doing. If yes, do the next thing.

Anesthesiologists need a good understanding of ventricular and valve function and ischemic risk when performing anesthesia. Intraoperative blood pressure management is not always as easy as it looks. Having the data helps us to choose the correct vasopressor and optimize volume status.

For clarification: preop cardiology consultation is not asking for clearance and is not requesting an H&P.

We are asking for recent cardiac testing (Cath, ECHO, EKG), cardiac biomarkers, assessment of their ischemic risk, and evaluation of their valves and ventricular function. #ansky #cardiosky
