Yeah, there's a genuinely interesting conversation about how sports betting proved so much worse than a lot of us expected. Why was that, what can we learn from it, how can we address it now, etc. Framing that as "The Left wanted this" is just wildly disingenuous.
Should be a fun conversation when Crosby shows up for Vegas OTAs with the new coaches.
"So...how's it going? Good, good. Yeah, totally chill offseason for me too. Suuuuuper chill."
Worthy and Mahomes generated more explosive rushes than the Chiefs' RBs last year.*
*This might not be literally true. I refuse to look it up.
Trump vetoed a bill to build a clean water pipeline in rural SE Colorado. Every Dem in CO supported it, even though they get no votes from that part of the state. Those loathsome Boulder and Denver libs supported clean water for rural Colorado. They won't get one vote's worth of credit for it.
Enable it to consume bio-mass and self-replicate and you have the backstory to Horizon: Zero Dawn.
I think it's a dynamite return. It does lead me to believe Veach is adopting a retrenchment/reloading approach to this offseason and not a "last year is unacceptable, we must ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK to make sure it never happens again" vibe.
The Chiefs drafting Love at 9 is both an objectively bad idea and one I will talk myself into the very moment it happens.
Are these generally safe Democratic districts?
Talarico winning outright and Paxton going to a run-off with Cornyn is just about the best-case scenario for Dems.
As a military strategy, “The people will rise up and overthrow their oppressors” has an almost 100-percent failure rate historically.
The stretch in the middle where he declaimed an impromptu Petrarchan sonnet was quite lovely. But besides that.
One thing I’ve noticed about SOTU responses is that they’re much better when they’re actual speeches in front of an audience, and not some weird, alone-in-an-empty room, “Oh, I didn’t see you come in” direct-to-camera faux conversation.
Alb-red-a? Is that anything?
Did I miss him, or do you not have Jauan Jennings listed among the WRs?
It is good! Both lighthearted and goodhearted. Small stakes, which is a plus for a lot of people. Kingsley is excellent. Probably not "resubscribe to a streaming service" good, in and of itself, but definitely worth a watch.
Gotta love that Harper's response to watching masked agents of the federal government murder multiple American citizens was clearly, "Oh, I can really own the libs with this one."
Hell, Jon Stewart was (rightly) able to joke about his name showing up in the emails.
Eight years ago: Guys, meditation is swell.
Today: NICK FUENTES IS A PROPHET.
I've been thinking that Dowdle is a nice fit for the Chiefs. Definitely a lower tier than Hall/Walker, and he doesn't fill the need for explosives in the way those two do. But he would give them a rock-solid professional at the position and at a much lower price.
Oh, the 2003 Chiefs….
And the thing is, even the Argument piece/poll that's driving all of this acknowledges that respondents aren't actually voting on this stuff. Voters don't care. They tell pollsters they don't want trans women playing women's sports, but they're not actually making electoral decisions based on this.
It's the Athletic Football Show.
An NFL podcast I listen to (and genuinely love) has a recurring ad that begins, "What if sports could be traded like markets?" Why, that sounds like a great way of taking something that's a source of fun and enjoyment in my life and turning it into another desperate hustle!
MAGA Influencer: We need more quaint small towns like the one in this picture I found when I Googled “quaint small town.”
*Picture is of a town in Vermont that Bernie Sanders wins by 58 points. Lesbian couples own every store.*
This makes sense -- I tend to think people are a bit overly dismissive of garbage time performance. It does have *some* meaning.
If DVOA doesn't have a garbage-time adjustment, I could see the Chiefs' fourth-quarter scores last year nudging them above the bar.
At this point you can't even really blame companies for doing this shit. If you told me I could get a highly lucrative job by bringing the hiring manager a fool's gold trophy with "World's Bestest Business Guy" engraved on it, of course I'd do it.
O’Keefe’s Working Hands cream. I live in Colorado, and dry winter air causes cracked skin every damn year. I put a little O’Keefe’s on before bed every night, and it works wonders.
I once stopped for a soda at a shop in the shadow of the Duomo in Florence and over the speaker system I heard, “Fergalicious definition make them boys go loco.”
Depends on the survey, but generally, yes. Independents tend to be a plurality. Of course, there's a ton of poli sci research about how most independents actually align with one party or another, but that's a different issue.
