I don't mind the initial misgendering, the images were admittedly small and she's old so her sight might not be great
But the insistence of saying they're girls even AFTER I clarified they're all men really made me uncomfortable.
It felt like she was misgendering me

So a few weeks ago I was at miniscule con in my town, with mostly original stuff. Didn't sell anything but later my family wanted to see it.
When it came to these, my great aunt went "so who are these girls?"
"No aunt, they're all men"
And she, instead of going "ah ok", kept insisting they were

THIS. Many "controversial" things wouldn't be so if people acknowledged that something existing doesn't mean they have to experience it/engage with it themselves, or even approve it on a personal level.
People really want others to cater to them and only them.

I think people who are like "oh there has to be a middle point, some art just really goes too far" are forgetting (or obscuring) the fact that censorship means something shouldn't be allowed to EXIST. Not censoring something doesn't mean you have to engage with it. Or that anyone does.

Since magic and its usage is directly tied to leylines, the further away you are from them, the less magic you can use, so you have to rely on non-magic cures. Especially since magical cures are mostly easy and relatively cheaper settlements far away from leylines are rare, but not unheard of.

In my world, magical users are commonly called mages (gender neutral)
Wizard is more or a title for highly specialised mages, while witch is an old-fashioned term for healers who focus on using herbal remedies in conjunction with very little to no magic, mostly places far from leylines
