This!! It's really not *about* the individual at all, or their overall moral character. If they provide money or social capital to be used to endanger a vulnerable group, then people, especially people in that vulnerable group, are going to be uncomfortable around them.
Do what you want, no one can stop you, but do so with the knowledge that you are *still causing harm* to your community. Even if you do everything else "right," this action is still causing harm, and the fact that you would choose to cause harm is probably going to affect how others view you.
You can't offset giving money to a woman who will turn around and give it right to groups that are actively harming our community, though. It's not about taking a stand for *yourself.* Solidarity isn't a scale you can balance by doing enough "good things"- every decision you make has a consequence.
