I wrote up some thoughts on The Correspondent by Virginia Evans.

I want to widely recommend this with the caveat that one of the themes of the book is grief over a child's death. It is a hopeful beautifully written book that has a superb audiobook.
Has anyone done a comparison between the two different MacBook Neos?
I have only seen reviews of the base model.
I am leaning toward the 512GB with Touch ID for my son (with education discount) because I want him to get used to using better passwords.
And so I spent (probably too much time) talking about depth of meaning and allusions and James Baldwin as I wrote about it.

I wrote about @kbhoyle.bsky.social's newest book in her Fairytale series. It doesn't come out until next month but I got an advanced copy and devoured it.
I don't like to give away too much plot for fiction reviews, but I do want to mention why I love her writing so much.
I am reading a paper library book for a book club I am in.
I just tapped the paper to turn the page.
Force of habits are strong.
There is irony to writing a review two days ago about not liking to read letter collections. And then starting a novel that is structured as correspondence. And being completely smitten with it.
I have seen multiple people recommend The Correspondent by Virginia Evans.
I am about 40% of the way through the audiobook.
It is too early to say definitively, but it is well on my way to being a favorite.
But despite some theological disagreements, it is helpful to read others talk about the spiritual life.
I picked this up because it was part of the Renovare book club and I wouldn't have picked it up otherwise. But I did enjoy and recommend it.
I spent about five months slowly reading a collection of letters of spiritual direction. Let God: Spiritual Conversations with François Fénelon by Winn Collier
I don't love letter collection because I get bored and I tend to rarely finish them.

...the kids edition Paperwhite, Basic and Colorsoft are all cheaper than the regular versions which don't have any of those things.
The Kindle Colorsoft is $220, $30 less than the regular colorsoft. And if you have an old kindle to trade in, you can get an additional 20% off
I know there are good reasons to not buy from Amazon, but if you are interested in a Kindle, I tend to recommend buying the Kids editions because they come with a 2 year accidental damage warranty, no ads and a case (although they are very kid oriented cases.)
