But the fact it goes in a different direction is PERFECT. “Now look at the mess you made me make” - proceeds to sing an album about the gap between perception and reality (and taco stands on the moon)
At first I thought this was easy but I can’t at all decide what Falcon is supposed to be
You’ve heard of moving and grooving, now try rolling and Grohling! (Doing an epic drum solo in the style of rock icon Dave Grohl)
Feels weird watching TikTok shut down and then coming here to see people talk about it but I guess that’s the best we can do now
Listen if Dalinar wants me to believe he was a bad bad man in the past then he has to stop being so cool in flashbacks
Mild Oathbringer spoilers
Current Dalinar: why won’t anyone trust me when I say I won’t conquer them??
Flashback Dalinar: Boy howdy do I love killing and conquering!
For something that isn't anime, Words of Radiance sure has a lot of "Top 10 Anime Moments" in it. It even has a (kinda) tournament arc. 2nd half of the book was just hype overload.
Oh you mean this one that I have right here?
Sometimes you like a thing and then sometimes you think “What if the Stormlight Archive just became my whole personality?”
End of thread. You can watch a short video version of this thread on my new TikTok. Consider giving me a follow as I plan on doing more content like this, breaking down the development of US media! www.tiktok.com/@alex_strine...
Adjusted for inflation, the original 1967 rate is over $350,000 today. But the actual cost of 2024 Super Bowl ad time is over *20 times that amount*. The rate of growth is a pretty good illustration of how much the ad industry has valued and continues to value the Super Bowl.
And finally, Super Bowl XXIX in 1995 was the first time spots cost over $1,000,000 to air, with ABC airing the game. Spots included Pepsi’s “Diner,” and the first Budweiser “Frogs” ad, which became a popular series.
In less than a decade the Super Bowl was popular enough that 30 seconds of airtime crossed $100,000 with Super Bowl VIII (1974). Super Bowl XIX (1985) passed $500,000. Super Bowl spots are A Thing by this point, with Apple airing their famous “1984” ad just a few years earlier.
Super Bowl I aired on both NBC & CBS, so had 2 different ad rates. Reporting tells us NBC was $37,500, and CBS was $42,500. It’s hard to confirm exactly what ads ran (which is its own whole story) but one memorable spot was Goodyear saying women can’t change tires. Yikes!
Commercials for Super Bowl LVIII cost over $7,000,000 for 30 seconds of airtime. I was curious how that ad rate grew from the first Super Bowl in 1967 to now, and when they first crossed the million dollar mark: (5 post thread if I can figure it out)
Returning to social media cause I GUESS I need it to find work
