It's wild that we still don't have a commonly accepted comic script format. Basically every script I get is different from the next, with varying levels of technical or layout issues. (But hey, we're all out here doing our best.)

These drunken balloons are so effective with the squiggle tail and surrounding lil bubbles.

And now I'm wondering who started the trend of small clustered bubbles denoting drunkenness (maybe they're supposed to represent burps?) 🤔

They shrunk in the early '70s (potentially due to a nationwide paper shortage) and again around 1990 with the switch to digital. Though I did see some folks claim there was another shift around 2002, so that could be why there's still such confusion around it!

Having now gone down the rabbit hole: The "standard" comic size has changed many times since the golden age, though comics in general haven't been 7x10.5 since the silver age ('50s-'70s).

But... has anyone tried? 😈
