Also the whole eyes obscured anime mom thing seems to be reserved for if a character's mother was also a famous horse and they don't want to go through the process of getting owner approval.

A lot of this stuff got quietly forgotten like we see their very normal human dads (and regular horse moms). They only obscure them if it's like Kitasan Black where their owner was a famous singer or like Satono Diamond's owner being the founder of Sega Sammy.
