True... I always feel a bit bad for them bc I know how much hope and effort they put into production.

The reason I can still sell my characters at cons is because I frame them as travel journals and architecture postcards. And people feel like they gain something w/o having to invest in my OCs

A reimagining of The Prince and The Pauper framed tale in a medieval Turkic skin. The prince lives high above in a world of court and gilded stories. The pauper lives below in the cracks of the ground where the empire had thrown a carpet over.

“I thought you were—oh, Juveh help me—I thought you were someone who wanted saving!”
His hands curled, helpless.
“And what do you do? You crept through the cracks like—” He broke off, then hissed the word like it poisoned him to say it: “—like a damned qarakorshaq!”
