I very much enjoy writing about Alan Moore and his silly sci-fi short stories
Jason X is more fun than I remember. The franchise never re-captures the highs of 4-6 but the last couple are at least a marked improvement over where things started and joins the club of slashers that are dumb in the right ways
People glazing Tubi must be out of their minds. Every 20 minutes you get an AI generated ad for a casino gambling app
This shit is unwatchable
I admit, I was actually intrigued by this project but this is for the best. The Whedon led 90s-2000s properties had their run, and we need to let them go. Even though Whedon himself wasn't involved in this, I don't think more Buffy does anything that new original stuff can't
To be honest, Jason Goes to Hell is a pretty fun movie. Much better than the last one. Body hopping Jason parasite is hilarious
Unbelievably pretty book
Some new arrivals!

What in me is Dark
Not to jinx it but I have started the task of writing a review and its flowing well! 1200 words in less than an hour and plenty still left in the tank. Fingers crossed this is done before monday!
The Penguin is the only person who gets it
Children and adults traumatized by the horror of cosmic monsters that reflect their own depraved choices, their own desire to abandon what makes us human in a childish refusal to accept death, consequence and the universe's lack of meaning
Meanwhile this mfer is just living his best life
Someone really made a movie called "Jason Takes Manhattan" where the opening titles are set to a montage of late 80s NYC life, and then deliberately chose to not have Jason in Manhattan until the last 30 minutes
The holy quartet of Bond Movies imo
I am doing my part to keep the company safe from surveys
IT: report suspicious emails
Me: ok
IT: here is a fake suspicious email, you better report it!
Me: *reported*
IT: here is a survey about how we're doing :)
Me: ....looks suspicious, *reported*
Feels like cheating because I didn't play Silent Hill 2 until recently but the rest were all very informative in my taste lol
Me when I go back to edit a review I'm working on
Hey! Anyone want to read about the time Batman fell in love with a ghost?
This is a great read! I actually have a poster of this cover in my office. Its so wonderfully moody
🚨 NEW on Shelfdust today! Caught In A Bat-Romance: Gothic Love in Batman #227, by @ligerlillie.bsky.social 🚨
Batman was inspired by pulp heroes, but also by gothic romance - today we take a look at one of The Dark Knight's most fantastical adventures! shelfdust.com/2026/03/11/c...
Okay, I gotta read some ABC Warriors soon
Completely disagree, obviously. Michael Mann is one of the best American directors ever and Thief is a classic. But I do love the way Kael wrote this. She definitely gets the movie, and its funny to read her critical description when those are all the best things about the movie
I'm a simple man. I see dinosaur, I am intrigued 🦖

From Flock's nationwide surveillance to ICE tools, we are being watched. Is there anyway to go back now?
"Police love telling each other about the new capabilities and tools that they've acquired, so this tech can spread from city to city very quickly."
A 404 Media guide to surveillance in 2026:
Gundam treats its leads like a lost generation, Evangelion treats them like real kids
Shinji is also an interesting contrast to Gundam protags like Amuro. For Amuro, the trauma of being a child soldier has to do primarily with death, war, and political responsibility for the future. But for Shinji, that trauma is an inward foreclosure to grew and learning how to be yourself
There is also a powerful coupling of coming of age and body dysphoria in a way that's extremely unique for mecha anime, and I'm very much here for it. Wish I saw this when I was much younger. But maybe I wouldn't have appreciated it as much
Its a very pretty show, in a way that most anime never allow themselves to be. There's no AoT exaggeration or over stimulation. It let's the episodes be quiet and thoughtful in between the action
I'm only 5 episodes in but one of the best animes I've ever seen in terms of episode by episode cliffhangers, allowing slow moments to linger, creating unique compositions that the episodes will simply hold on. Its so cinematic
Shock, awe, surprise, hot take, unpopular opinion, or whatever else
Evangelion is really good
