Haven't read Akira since I was a teenager so this will be a fun experience

Feeling a little better than I did earlier so started going through the new editions of Akira. Otomo is a master of lettering and sound effects. The way the "vrooom" effect is aligned with the cityscape, the way he visualizes being unable to hear someone and the gorgeous "you again!" moment

Haven't felt well enough to watch or pay attention to any movies today but a good weekend nonetheless

The biggest difference between writers and artists is that writers are all alcoholics and artist are all addicted to porn.

All these days in near freezing weather may have finally gotten me sick 🤒 I'm probably going to lay here on the sofa for a minimum of 11 hours

Had a blast reading and writing about Out of Alcatraz by @ifyoucantwell.bsky.social and Tyler Crook. Definitely worth picking up if you like classic noirs and existential musing!

Eight Crazy Nights is so very 2002. Taking Disney iconography and making it edgy, at times cruel for the sake of humor but weirdly sentimental at the same time

Been busy but finally getting back to this book and appreciating the Looney Tunes gags in the middle of Red October

Maybe its vanity but I get so much joy knowing people read things I've written. The idea that someone takes time out of their day, cutting through the sea of posts and content, to arrive at something I did for a bit is definitely not nothing
