Luci makes her first appearance talking to Maddi about Leon vs James. Maddi is too lost in her own thoughts about the Kimi situation, when she is brought back to reality by Luci, she makes a very embarrassing comment that makes Luci judge her, assumptions about her daydreaming are made.

Harper and Maddi are walking down the campus pathway as there are other students going along to classes. Harper asks "Maddi... You think someone on campus might recognize Kimi?" Maddi replies "Nah. Her show's so obscure, I doubt even people from Japan would recognize her." Harper does her ponytail/bun up again while she continues by saying "If there's one thing I've learned from having a turbo geek of a brother, it only takes one of them to connect the dots. You two would be perfect for each other. Maddi, off screen, says "Oh, be still my beating heart... or whatever." Harper, in the next panel, asks Maddi "...Where'd you even get that DVD from, Anyways?" Maddi thinks about it and responds with "Uhhh... I think I borrowed it from my friend Luci. Was gonna return it the next time I-" The next panel shows Maddi realizing she can't give it back now given whats happened, saying "oh." Harper looks peeved. "'OH'? That's it? You can't even give it back now! What's she gonna do when she find's out miss Japanimation is on campus, huh?!" Harper asks, looking more distressed. Maddi shrugs, saying "...Snap a pic with her, probably." Harper buries her face in her hands.
