Rare Kam Buckner L. I’d sooner be forgotten a thousand times than have a highway named after me.

Here’s a better idea. In 2020 we renamed (Stephan A.) Douglas Park to (Anna and Frederick) Douglass Park.

Let’s change (Andrew) Jackson Park to (Jesse) Jackson Park.

Depending on how and what you count, this leaves like 3-8 sit-down restaurants in the entire neighborhood. Glad we solved crime in the 1990s by making it impossible to get a liquor license in the neighborhood, though, that seems to have worked well.

Every day is Chicago Day for me. Oh, and I hate St. Patrick's Day too.

Look, I understand this and, at least theoretically, I support it. But I really think Britain is underestimating the benefits of keeping their rich twits contained in one building where only one of them can speak at a time. At this point the House of Lords may be a force of harm reduction.

When I indulge my nostalgia, I skip right past the area codes to alphanumeric exchanges. RO-4 FTW.

I am not onboard with calling today, 3/12, "Chicago Day" due to the Area Code; it's only Central Chicago Day, at best. It's been decades since 312 was the whole of Chicago. Pi Day is fine, Star Wars Day is a goofy pun, but c'mon, let's leave the invented holidays to Hallmark.

Think we’ll ever find out the real story of why all those Repub senators showed up in Moscow on 4th of July 2018?

Elon Musk is now worth $845 billion.

Tesla reported paying ZERO federal income tax on $5.7 billion of U.S. income in 2025.

Meanwhile, nearly a quarter of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck and household debt has risen to a record high.

See the problem here?

I think there is something to explore that many nations at the WBC have come showing what they love about their country (dancing, celebration, tradition) to represent the people while the American team has shown up representing and only celebrating the military

The next No Kings rally/protest is Saturday March 28

I'm volunteering with the local organizing group's pr efforts and wrote this for it.

It's about the idea of both showing up ... and showing

Edward Hopper (American, 1882–1967), Nighthawks, Scene in a diner, viewed through wrap-around glass windows, at night on an empty urban street. A light-skinned man and woman, he in a suit and she in a red dress, sit together at a triangular wood bar, eyes downcast. At left sits another man, his back to the viewer. Behind the counter is a light-skinned man in a white uniform. The interior lights cast a yellow glow that spills onto the street in pale green. Above the diner a sign reads, "Phillies."

June 15, 1872 New York Clipper box score of June 3, 1872 game between Athletics and Nationals. Spencer in quotes at short stop

I think I've cracked maybe the most uncrackable missing player case, that of a player named "Spencer" who made one appearance on June 3, 1872 for the dismal Washington Nationals in a game in Philadelphia. What makes this case so seemingly unsolvable is that Spencer was an alias...

Looking through the stone archway that connects the Loyola University Information Commons building and the Madonna Della Strada Chapel on their campus in Rogers Park. Through the arches, the bright blue waters of Lake Michigan can be seen along with the even brighter blue sky. Shadows from the bare winter trees behind me are cast onto the arches as the sun begins to set to the west. A handful of college students sit on the concrete sea wall next to the lake and enjoy the views.

On Monday, it was 70 degrees and everyone was outside enjoying the spring of deception in Rogers Park. Today it is snowing like crazy in my neighborhood.

You can have the best armed forces in the history of the world, but if you are an incompetent criminal without a plan, you can still lose a war, and rather quickly.

Grammarly Is Facing a Class Action Lawsuit Over Its AI ‘Expert Review’ Feature The feature, which Grammarly shut down Wednesday, presented editing suggestions as if they came from established authors and academics—without their consent.

I'm suing Grammarly over its paid AI feature that presented editing suggestions as if they came from me - and many other writers and journalists - without consent.

State law requires consent before someone's name can be used for commercial purposes.

America's status as the top destination for global talent is being shattered.

The Administration only just published (!) what happened last summer to international student visa issuances. It's grim.
