OK . . . I love that Rogers Park is one of the few Chicago neighborhoods where you can have a "local jazz bar." Those neighborhoods are on North, South, and West Sides. As for the Prairie Oyster: you're on your own.

Football players will pay no taxes in Mississippi on their licensing deals, which can sometimes be very lucrative in the millions. Teachers, cops, firefighters, construction workers - they still have to pay taxes on their income.

Something I think about lately is that when I was 20, WWI seemed a very long time ago. Yet it doesn’t, now, in my late 70s.

Laura Fine’s campaign is telling AIPAC they shouldn’t only attack Kat Abughazeleh & Daniel Biss, but that they also need to tout Mike Simmons so that voters who reject Abughazeleh don’t go to Biss & voters who reject Biss don’t go to Abughazeleh.

And Fine still won’t admit she’s backed by AIPAC

Also this crap only ever applies one way. The idea that it’s anti-democratic or insulting to voters to criticize a president only holds when we’re talking about delicate Republican snowflakes. I heard this exactly never about attacks on Biden or Obama.

So, it didn't turn into Crawford; it remained Crawford.

North of Devon at Pulaski/Crawford is Lincolnwood; some suburbs went along with Chicago's renaming, others did not.

And the bartender never gets him one on the house, no other customer includes him in a round, and he never gets laid.

That effort failed, because the elderly daughter of the man for whom Haussen Court was named fought it. She died of a stroke that her doctor attributed to the stress of the fight. Kelly and the city weren't backing down in any case: more Polish voters than Crawford supporters.

On Casimir Pulaski Day, just a quick reminder that before he was a day off for municipal workers, folks on what had been Crawford Avenue fought for almost 20 years in courts and the Illinois legislature to keep the street from being renamed for Pulaski. Anti-Polish prejudice was powerful.
