26.06.2025 18:30 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This weekend he even stayed awake to complete a 24 hour Splash and Stitch challenge. This massive honour has not only helped Mateo to see the huge difference he is making, but will also hugely help us in spreading the word about Capture!
26.06.2025 18:30 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0He has been instrumental in helping Capture raise every single penny of the Β£130,000 that has so far been raised. He has sold raffle tickets, baked cakes, served drinks and washed up. He has spoken to quite literally anyone who will listen about DSRCT and made videos for those further afield.
26.06.2025 18:30 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yesterday Mateo; Captureβs biggest supporter, found out he has been shortlisted and will be a finalist in the Young Hero section of the BBC Make A Difference Awards. Since day one Mateo has channeled his love for his big sister Liz into making a difference to others diagnosed with DSRCT.
26.06.2025 18:29 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 3 π 016.5 hours in and these guys are still going STRONG. Alternating between stitching and swimming they have rocked Splash and Stitch. Itβs not too late to sponsor them and help us fund essential research into palliative care: www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding...
21.06.2025 07:39 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Weβd love people to sign up for a slot so we can shout as loudly as possible about DSRCT and all those taking part: www.signupgenius.com/go/10C054EA8...
Together we can make a real difference!
We have lots of media interest in the event and the more people taking part from all over the world, the bigger the splash we can make.
If you know a knitter, crocheter or swimmer who can spare half an hour on the 20th or 21st of June, please share with them.
Preparations for our 24 hour Splash and Stitch are well underway, but we need your help to make a huge splash!
Whilst people can attend the event in person we are also looking for people to take part remotely.
Thinking about joining in with Splash and Stitch? Mateo would love it if you did! Either in person in Harrogate or remotely from wherever you live in the world. Sign up here: www.signupgenius.com/go/10C054EA8...

13.06.2025 19:24 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Our incredible Lake Windermere fundraising swimmers smashed their outdoor swimming challenge today, but not before they squeezed in some knitting! They truly are incredible and we are beyond grateful to them.

Or perhaps you can think of a challenge you and your friends could take on this summer?
Together we will make a difference.
We are so very grateful to Belinda and her intrepid friends for taking on a 1 mile swim across Lake Windermere on Friday 13th June. People taking on challenges like this make a huge difference to our fundraising and help us to fund vital research for the DSRCT Community.
11.06.2025 19:24 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0But more than anything we would love it if you would show your appreciation for her incredible achievement and her kindness in raising funds for Capture.
If you have a personal challenge planned, why not get in touch. Together we can make a difference.
So far Helen has raised an incredible 495. Wouldnβt it be amazing if we could help her get past the Β£500 mark?
If you would like to sponsor Helen you can do so here:

Capture is so thankful to Helen Frankish King, who last weekend completed the Ironman Hamburg Triathalon. Helen swam 3.8km, cycled 180km and completed a marathon (42.195km) whilst raising funds for research into DSRCT.
05.06.2025 18:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0But we are also grateful to every one of you. If you've liked our posts or shared them, if you have turned up to a Capture event or helped us to fundraise please know how much we appreciate you! We couldn't do it without every single one of you!

We're so grateful to those who stood up and offered to be trustees, their expertise is what has allowed us to create Capture. Special thanks also go to @drbobphillips.bsky.social who has given us his time and expertise when we haven't known the answers.
This week is national volunteer's week! Unlike large charities, Capture is run entirely by volunteers. It means that every penny we raise can go directly to making a difference.
04.06.2025 19:35 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The incredible Helen did an Ironman triathalon in Hamburg Yesterday in support of Captureβs next research project. We are so grateful to her for her support.
