I still don't understand how ostensible experts are saying we're only a few years away from true AGI (or even superintelligence). Analytical AI/ML is ultimately just statistical modeling and analysis, and generative AI is just auto-correct amped up a bunch.

Weirdly, one of the best bits of being a teens cancer doctor is saying things like “Your scan is really dull. Nothing medically exciting at all.” before wishing them a (clinically) tedious time until we meet again.
