A small harvest basket contains 2 cherry tomatoes and a handful of mouse melons. The melons (actually tiny cucumbers) have green skin with lighter green mottling that looks like a watermelon. But each one is half the size of a cherry tomato.

A 3 foot tall houseplant with giant leaves that have slits along the edges and open holes in the center. Facing the camera you can see the oldest leaf with just three slits on one side as well as the newest leaf with over 20 openings. The stem is surrounded by a trellis of multi colored hexagons with air roots sticking through many openings.

A cast iron dutch oven full to the brim. Slices of zucchini, eggplant, tomato, and onion are layered in a spiral on the top and sprinkled with minced garlic and herbs.

With apologies to the French, I made up my own version of ratatouille and its delicious! The top layer looks just like ratatouille. Underneath there's a layer of cheese (ricotta with mozz cheddar herbs). Under that there's a layer of white beans. At the bottom is pasta. #resistanceGarden #vermont

A purple orb with leaves branching off in all directions. The stems and veins of the leaves are also purple and the leaves themselves are shaped a bit like kale. Dew drops hang off the leaf stems and the sun shines through green foliage of other garden plants behind it.

I have grown a little alien veggie! This is kohlrabi, it's a member of the brassica family and it tastes a bit like a mild broccoli stem. I eat it sliced or diced, raw in salads or sauted with other veggies. but mostly I grow it for its looks! #resistanceGarden #grownYouOwnFood #vermont #garden

Wait a couple weeks. If it forms a biofilm and smells like kombucha then you've done it! Make more tea, transfer the scoby to the new batch. Pour the drink into a bottle or jar you can seal tightly and let it sit at room temp for another 3-7 days for bubbles. Or drink it still, whatever you prefer.

Look for a bottle that's got some sediment in the bottom for best effect. Make tea. Use your favorite flavors but I was taught to use half green, half black and 4 bags per quart. Add about a 1/2C of sugar per quart. Once it's cool pour in the sediment (you can drink the rest.)
