Am I wrong to hope that the world tells Trump to take his request to help reopen the Strait of Hormuz and shove it? Might be the planet's best shot at puncturing this orange balloon. #Politics #Iran

Chicago River Dyed Green To Mark St. Patrick’s Day 2026 THE RIVER — The annual dyeing of the Chicago River is officially underway, with green dye turning the murky water a bright green. It’s the 64rd year the local plumbers union turned the river green— an effect that lasts for several days. Thousands of people flocked Downtown Saturday morning to check out the process, lining the river from Columbus Drives far to end of the main branch. The river dyeing kicked off at 9:52 a.m. Saturday, with Journeymen Plumbers Local Union 130 members dumping their proprietary blend of dyes into the river between Columbus Drive and Orleans Street. Video by Colin Boyle/Block Club Chicago

They've dyed the river green. It's snowing. Large pockets of the city are already in their cups. Yup, it's St. Patrick's Day weekend, in Chicago. #Chicago #StPatricksDay

The Return of Travis Kalanick: Fact & Fluff! Travis is back. It was only a matter of time. Given his old compadres Emil Michael and Shervin Pishevar are back in the news, how could he, the king pooh-ba, stay in the shadows? To a lot of us who…

It was quite fun to watch the spectacle of Travis Kalanick's comeback. The whole media sphere was tripping over itself. Here is my day two take of the news. What's fact. What's fluff. From someone who is seen him play the game for a long time. om.co/2026/03/14/t...

A woman standing in a liquor store holds an oversized decorative glass bottle shaped like a rifle, labeled “Old Carbine.” She looks directly at the camera while gripping the large bottle at an angle. Shelves of wine and other alcoholic beverages line the brightly lit store behind her, with stacked cases and display signs visible in the background.

Left... the Great Seal of the United States... an Eagle holding symbols of peace and war.
Right... the Trump Dime where the Eagle holds ONLY the arrows of war.

The Trump Dime.
1782: Congress adopts The Great Seal of the United States—an eagle holding both the olive branch of peace and the arrows of war.
2026: Trump's treasury issues a dime that drops the peaceful olive branch and retains only the arrows of war.

The motto "Liberty over Tyranny" is positively Orwellian from an administration that is deploying a masked secret police force and actively suppressing the freedom of the press and undermining the rule of law.

A display table in an Walmart store shows a large vertical sign reading “MacBook Neo – Hello, Neo.” with a yellow laptop and colorful abstract screen art, next to a physical light-yellow laptop with white keyboard, surrounded by other tech products and brand signage in the background

According to the Walmart employee at this store they've been selling more of the $699 models than the $599. #MacBookNeo #Apple #Tech

MacBook Neo-ing

On an errand with my wife I happened to be in the neighborhood of one of the two Apple Stores closest to me and decided to drop in and take a look at the new MacBook Neo.

STOP THE WAR! How hard is that for an editorial board to say? | Press Watch Iran War A survey of what editorials are saying, and a plea for them to say more

NYT has published only two editorials about the war. First day: “We lament that Mr. Trump is not treating war as the grave matter that it is.” Second day: “there are reasons to worry about what comes next.” Since then: nothing. Shameful. presswatchers.org/2026/03/stop...

I just shipped a new feature to my Chicago early vote dashboard. You can see how many votes have been cast based on the districts that voters are registered to.

Cook County Commissioner District 10 has the highest turn out so far for that elected office!
