A huge bank of mist covered the Ullswater area in the Lake District yesterday morning at 8:00am. By 10:00am most of it had gone but this is the last bit hanging around the tops of the mountains before the sun gained a little strength and mid afternoon it was blue sky all around

The remainder of the cloud inversion that covered the Ullswater area yesterday morning accompanied by freezing fog. It had disappeared by about 10:00am but was dramatic over Hayeswater and Grey Cragg as I climbed up to Satura Crag. A beautiful days walking

A misty and frozen start to the day on our dog walk to Hayeswater flanked by the Knott and Grey Crag on either side. Blue sky and the remains of a wonderful mist and cloud inversion which sit on the tops of the mountains. Now this is a tarn and no longer a reservoir it's a great location for swimming in the warmer months to come.

Saturday wander and dog walk to Hayeswater(decommissioned as a reservoir in 2014) This is a mountain glacial tarn originally dammed in 1908 to supply drinking water to the Ullswater area in the #LakeDistrict. Cold frosty morning and some mist remains on the tops
