View of the Cornish coast path near Gorran haven. Lush green cliff tops, beaches and turquoise sea stretching to the horizon.

Checking in from the coast path again. Almost obscenely beautiful this evening, plenty of butterflies about and swallows ducking and diving.

View of the Cornish coast path near Black Head in St Austell Bay. The cliffs are topped with green, sea pinks are in the foreground. The sea is a vivid turquoise and blue.

Just checking in from the coast path again. I had the company of stonechats on today’s run, hardly a soul about otherwise which was perfect. Mostly avoiding the news at the moment as it’s a depressing sh!t tip isn’t it.

I only ever seem to post photos of the coast path. So I guess I’ll carry on! Immensely pretty out there this evening.

View from the south west coast path near Dodman point in Cornwall. Yellow gorse flowering in the foreground, green cliff tops and hard grey rugged cliffs below. The sea and coastal landscape stretches out in the distance. The sky is a mottled grey with high cloud.

Peaceful view from the coast path near Dodman. Just the sound of the waves below and skylarks above.

So today like a silly idiot I signed up to run a marathon in November on the Cornish coast path. It’ll be fine, right?

Can it be a bit like Mary Chapin Carpenter’s farm, filled with music and animals?

It’s been great, seen lots but made time for watching the world go by with a Turkish tea or two.

Here with my 82 year old mum! But we’re here on our own, not part of a tour or anything. Had no hassle and feel pretty safe.

Yes found it easy using the very frequent trams, and the ferries are ace for going further afield. Walked miles too of course.

Last one from Istanbul and it had to be a cat. Waiting at a tram stop in the sunshine. I noticed a bowl of biscuits near the seat. They seem well looked after in this city?

Today’s view from Istanbul. Still cold, sleet and rain. Really loving spending time here in this beautiful city.

I’m guessing that Bluesky isn’t yet big enough to be a threat to Erdogan?

An interesting time to be in Istanbul, but the social media blackout doesn’t seem to have extended to Bluesky. The city was looking beautiful today in the bitter cold.

View of coastpath winding ahead towards a coastal view of chapel point and Mevagissey on the south Cornish coast. Bright green grass in the fields and hedgerow, milky blues and greys in the sky as the sun tries to break through.

View from the coast path between Meva and Pentewan this afternoon. Lifted my spirits which is no mean feat at the moment!

Delighted to see a snap I took of @jamesbluecat.bsky.social in the jacket of his beautiful new novel Pagans. Seeing work in print never gets old.
