German uses neuter for sweet little thing, like Madchen. Still. French beats them all. Le vagin, why is it masculine, when of course the original Latin is feminine???? But in slang you say la foufoune, feminine, of course
The gendered nouns make no sense. Why is liv (life) neuter? What's more feminine than life itself?
Norwegian is a mix of Germanic (old Norse), Saxon, French (idea is idé, then you have nevø, niece, kusine, sjåfør). And, besides the hellish gendered nouns and the adjective concordance, it's so EASY.
I'm fluent in three, get away with one, read another, put together sentences in the sixth, and the seventh, I've been trying to learn it for six years but I still can't understand when I hear it unless I see the characters.
Is it true that mornings hold gold? I keep squandering mine idly learning Mandarin and Norwegian — which, honestly, is far more fun than any other language I've studied. But maybe I should be *writing*
