This reminds me of learning that, during Jim Crow, white people used to walk into black people's homes and steal from us.

This would be a MAJOR win for Dems. Getting them to separate DHS out of the six-bill funding package means a shutdown wouldn’t risk Head Start, SSI payments, Section 8, NIH, etc. Four days ago, I doubt this would have worked. But with republicans’ backs against the wall, it seems within reach.
