A dry stone wall, of mostly grey but also blue, lilac, shadows of navy, and flecks of white and red, runs diagonally across the foreground to the bottom right corner, with long grass of blues, greens, and yellows in front of it and a rough field of yellows, greens, oranges, and browns, behind it. Beyond another stone wall on its far side is a sliver of a yellow field, the far side of which is a small grey cottage, its gable end in sunlight, and a row of dark bushes and trees, of blues, reds and greens. Behind is a low orange hill and behind it a grey-green one before in the distance on the right in light blue are peaked mountains. Sky is a paler blue. I painted the snow scene of the track, gate, fence, cattle grid and trees first. Then I decided it needed a strong focal point so I painted one of the wild ponies on the other side of the cattle grid.

My small painting is of an area near the Devil’s Punchbowl where wild ponies live. It is a snow scene which I used for a Christmas Card in 2023.

An original mixed media artwork of dandelions. Created on mulberry paper and board, using acrylic paints and copper leaf.

Dandelion flowers were considered a "shepherd's clock" because they reliably open in the morning and close in the evening or during cloudy, rainy weather. They also symbolise the sun (yellow flower), moon (seed ball), and stars (seeds).
Art my own.

1st December! Behind door number one we have:

“Unleashed” 24×24in - Acrylic on canvas

An original digital illustration by Loadofolbobbins of a group of 23 moths of different colourful species flying and perching around a lit light bulb, surrounded by foliage. The foliage and light bulb are all drawn in black, in the top left is a section of trailing ivy which leads to two thin branches, on of which has a Kentish Glory moth clinging to it. The light bulb is hanging in the centre of the image from a woven single light cord and the edison style bulbs filament is glowing. In the bottom right corner of the image is a large leaf with an equally large female emperor moth perched on it, just above this is a series of tall grasses, one of which has a scarlet tiger moth clinging to it. There is also a small clump of grass in the bottom left corner of the image which very slightly obscure a large emerald moth beneath. The other moths include a mint moth, peppered moth, ethmia pusiela, scarce forester moth, barred hook-tip moth, ruby tiger moth, brimstone moth, mother shipton moth, blood-vein moth, cinnabar moth, schreckensteinia festaliella, large fruit tree tortix moth, elephant hawk moth, buff ermine, red underwing moth, hummingbird hawk moth, hypercallia citrinilis, chrysoclistra linnella and the herald moth. All of these are either perched facing or flying around the light bulb.

For my first #ArtAdventCalendar this year I'm going for the piece that I'm proudest of, I really had a good play and experiment with it and am so happy with how it turned out. I'd had the idea for a while and then everything clicked...
