Every winter, #CommonMurres flood back to the #FarallonIslands to breed. Strong NW winds are their cue, some mornings we see 350–400k murres (nearly the entire Farallon population) gather offshore, then take to the sky in giant looping formations called Murrenados before landing en masse. πŸ¦‰πŸŒŽπŸ§ͺ

The Permian Basin's fossil fuels are a climate bomb that's turned the landscape into a desolate wasteland pockmarked with O&G wells. This image is from just one small square of development that extends across millions of acres of land.

This is the reality "all of the above" energy policy.

2026: Reform the UN COPs but look beyond for rapid climateΒ action COP30 in Brazil ended without a mention of the need to phase out fossil fuels, in spite of growing damage from climate warming impacts. These UN negotiations have to be reshaped, the influence of the fossil fuel industry reduced while the transition to a low-carbon world speeds on elsewhere.

Don't mention fossil fuels? Time to reform the UN climate negotiations, reduce the influence of the fossil fuel industry and petrostates and push ahead with climate action elsewhere.
