An issue of the Monist has just appeared devoted to Ibn Sīnā/Avicenna! A great lineup of authors, and I'm honored to be part of it, having written a paper with Michael Noble about the reception of the idea of the Active Intellect.

My *Avicenna + Zorn = Necessary Existent* is published in the new vol. of OSPR, edited by @larabuchak.net and Dean Zimmerman. Combining a series of Avicennian principles and Zorn's lemma, I have developed a proof for the ex. of God, which is probably stronger than the original Proof of the Sincere.

PSR, Modal Collapse, and Open Future in Ibn Sīnā's Philosophy It has been contended that the Principle of Sufficient Reason (PSR) implies necessitarianism—that is, the view that everything occurs out of necessity. Discussing a well-known argument for this claim....

My "PSR, Modal Collapse, and Open Future in Ibn Sīnā's Philosophy" is published open-access in Theoria.

I argue that Ibn Sīnā's necessitarianism is *compatbile* with not only epistemic but also ontic openness of the future.

I know; many people disagree.
