Sicily is so hot that the region has just issued an ordinance to suspend various types of agricultural and construction activities on hot days to avoid accidents at work. Essentially these activities will be off at 12:30-16:00pm until 31/8.

I always thought that industry had limited electrification potential.

How wrong I was:

Once I looked into it in more detail I found that the potential is huge. 90% of industrial process heat could be electrified in Europe by 2035.

That is what analysis for @agoraind.bsky.social says.

They are also more likely to be affected by environmental issues.

It's tough to overstate just how shockingly unusual an article like this is. Despite the fact that this is the response of the vast, vast majority of neighbours for both wind and solar farms, they are mostly erased from existence in coverage of attitudes of neighbours to utility-scale renewables
