Nicky and I had just returned to the Dungeness RSPB visitor center after a walk round .A man mentioned he had seen Night heron on the reserve Thank you ! We put the word out and Nicky soon re-found the bird that turned out to be very obliging for a Night heron . These images only took 5 hours :-)

I am so lucky to have such good birding and birding friends at Dungeness. Yesterday there was a Whiskered Tern on the RSPB reserve. I was late and thought It had left so Imagine my relief when I spotted it on the last place I was going to look Hookers pit. Later it flew high and off the reserve.

There are reasons for abnormal white feathers including age , leucism, diet and injury this crow might have suffered from more than one of these? Taken from the footpath at Scotney farm Lydd . Also Common sandpiper, yellow wagtails, yellowhammer, Avocet ,Whimbrel, Marsh harrier and corn buntings

I could not resist posting another image of yesterdays Iberian Chiff chaff that I took at South view Dungeness . The bird found by Dave Bunney showed well . As the afternoon slipped by the bird called several times and eventually a short but clear song was heard

Dungeness today seeing the Iberian Chiffchaff at South view and in great company .Hearing it calling several times and singing for a few moments. Viewing is currently being allowed by the home owner so please treat this with respect and only park on the roadside not the gravel drive.
