This is going to seriously hurt so many artists. It’s honestly ridiculous that stuff like this keeps happening one after another. I’m just tired at this point...

I was just scrolling through Twitter when suddenly all the posts disappeared, then I realized that all adult content has been locked behind a age verification system.
It’s not just the UK, even the EU seems to be doing the same. Even VPN don't work for me.

When I wrote those comments, I didn’t fully know what had happened but now I realize they really were at fault too.
I’m honestly disappointed, and I’ve lost all my trust in them.

I’ve seen the admin on the forums always supported adult content before. I’m sure this decision was hard for them too.

The real issue now is the payment processors, hitting the site with hate does absolutely nothing. At this point, even Patreon might end up removing all NSFW content too.

They’re basically powerless in all this. It’s us who have to do something.
I’m defending the site because it let me upload and promote my game for free, and that alone is a big deal, something most platforms wouldn’t do.
Shaming the site won’t help and won’t solve the real problem.

And it’s not just about the site owner, if they had resisted, a lot of games making income through the site would’ve lost everything. They couldn’t betray everyone like that.

I’ve been following the site for a long time, and the admin has always been someone who supported adult content. But not everyone would be willing to sacrifice their entire income, you have to understand them too. They really had no choice...

[3/] I don’t know what can be done yet, but please don’t ignore this. Do whatever you can to stop it, otherwise, a terrifying future awaits, especially for us queer folks…

[2/]Please take this seriously. The world is moving toward censorship and the erasure of freedom of speech. Soon all LGBT content might be labeled as "adult" and removed. Anyone who speaks out against their policies will be silenced. This is about gaining control over what people are allowed to say.

That means my game has been completely removed from search results and can’t be found anymore.

This is absolutely not itch.io’s fault. The real blame lies with Mastercard and Visa, who hold a monopoly over payment systems and now fascist groups are pressuring them.
It’s better that we focus on the real enemy and stand up to stop this disaster before it gets worse.

Hi! Thank you for supporting this update! I’m starting work on the next update today. I’m trying to reduce the overall game size without too much loss in quality. I’m also planning to add an SFW mode in the settings so more people can enjoy the game.

Hi, I’m really, really sorry and I’m honestly embarrassed to say this but… the update is delayed for another 24 hours.
It makes me upset that I keep going back on my promises, but the update still has a bunch of issues, and I don’t want to release something unfinished.

Everything is going smoothly, the main parts are mostly done, and most of the remaining work is programming!

Sorry I was gone for a while, some urgent things came up and the update process slowed down. But I’m still working on it, I just hope I can focus more on it in this situation
