So her publicist says. :)
Amazing but true: Susan Sarandon was 63 years old when she made Bull Durham.

You inspire me! I am in dire need of feeling rejuvenated after a grueling seven years or so of one loss after another (career, the product of my life's work, my mom, democracy, etc.). I shall circle back to you for helpful tips. You can count on it.
Wow. You've been through a lot, KBK. What could you do? Nothing less than what you did do. Because you're a good person.
I'm so sorry, Kim. Please know that I feel your pain. We settled our mother's "estate" (an old home on Main Street in a farm town) about a year ago, and, given all I'd paid toward her care in her final years, I ended up with a net loss. Not complaining. Just voicing reality.
A most enjoyable piece, Honey.
I suspect this is a common experience that I hope gets talked about more in the years to come, once the whole fascist/AI overlord threat has been vanquished, of course.
My mom managed to adapt to the smart phone thing fairly well (I still haven't adapted extremely well!), but, when things with an elderly party go south, they tend to go south quickly. Her smart phone proved useless in her final year. If she'd kept the landline......
*rapidly increasing.
Sorry. I make more typos when I'm angry.
1) LOL
2) My mom's downward physical and cognitive spiral coincided with COVID. I had to manage crisis after crisis from 700 miles way.
3) My #1 barrier? My cognitively declining mom's rapidly decreasing inability to use technology... like smart phones, for example.
Honestly, FUCK THIS SHIT.
Liza, honey, you're not the only one who still talks to her every day.
P.S. Happy birthday to my newly minted favorite octogenarian!
I get it. I find myself posting less and less.... I'm sure I'll soon delete the skeet, but, JFC, that pubescent Nazi fuck is literally the guy who destroyed my life and the lives of many of friends. No mercy.
You can tell that Illinoisans didn't write SLIH:
The script makes several references to Urbana as being Joe and Jerry's destination for a gig at the University of Illinois.
Sure, Urbana is the U of I's mailing address. But Illinoisans say Champaign or Champaign-Urbana.

Totally agree. You and I overlapped! I was there from 1994 to 2002. The Book Loft is maybe my all-time favorite bookstore.
That does not surprise me. Go, Columbus! (I lived there for several years, a long time ago. Still have many friends there. A fun community.)
Surely, somewhere, at some time, there's been a restaurant cheeky enough to include a selection called Prognosis Negative on its menu?
#TCMParty #DarkVictory
"What does 'prognosis' mean?"
Honey, you're rich. You presumably went to the best school that money could buy. You never opened a fucking dictionary? Nurses are not your Google.

My dog is resisting entering the elevator after his evening walk because he knows that Dark Victory is on TCM and he is *not* fond of the scene where Bette says goodbye to Daffy and Don on the staircase landing. Especially since I make him re-enact it over and over again.

Yes. Yes again. Fuck yes.
Does it come with an IV drip?
I suspect he's persuadable.
Claire can handle it.
I’m not gonna panic unless and until the tiny oxygen masks drop from the ceiling.
What’s the go-to emoji for “rusty”?
Thanks for the gift link, Gina! The (temporary, I hope) desecration of the Kennedy Center saddens, infuriates, and frightens this DC resident as much as anything else this regime has done. Symbolic? Yes, largely. But fascists thrive on symbolism. That's why they went for the KC first.
I adore her. Thanks for sharing.

Come sit by me, Mr. von Sydow. And your sickle-wielding friend from The Seventh Seal is most welcome to join us.

No judgment here. There are quite a few generally beloved films that I've never been able to get into. Plus, Moonstruck *is* a weird brew.
It's funny—I saw Moonstruck in its first run, but if you'd asked me at the time if I loved it, I'd've shrugged and said, "It's good but not great."
Didn't help that my first attempt to see it was cut short by a fire alarm at the multi-plex.
Now, it's a sacred text to me.

On the contrary, I much appreciate your question! It made me re-think my opinion about venison.
To be fair: As an adult, I've occasionally dared to order venison-inclusive dishes at nicer restaurants and have enjoyed them. But to be enjoyable, venison requires a full cast of supporting players and a chef who knows what they're doing.
