Chaosium Con Australia was awesome fun and devastating on my pocket

With the Flowers of Algorab now out in Beta answering the where’s the intrigue question beautifully and the physical core rule book showcasing the usual quality and exquisite style of Free League I’ve had great fun running this and I think despite initial doubts it’s an excellent sequel to CtTH

Well ran my Stalingrad adventure to great success and my Pendragon adventure twice @chaosium.bsky.social once again ran an excellent con here in Melbs. Thanks for organising.

Thanks to a conversation with @rustysellsword.com I am now feeling the love for a campaign where you start as knights working for King Lot.

Well first session down running my Adventure for Pendragon and everyone seemed to have a good time. I’m realising I’m all about the aesthetic when it comes to this fantastic game.

It was awesome, the players ultimately did a deal with the BG to do in the other house. Duels occurred in the imperial capital, spies killed house leaders, Players fell in love with, dueled and then saved BG spies in the other House, everyone needs Mentats it turns out.

I ran a campaign that never went near Dune, it was focussed on the Mentat drug and control of it. The basic premise of the House while everyone is focussed on Spice, we could corner the market on something important and niche.

It's a testament to Free League's ongoing excellence in making games that capture an aesthetic. In the CTGD, I feel that sense of loneliness, of the desperate search for supplies and a way out of the suffocating conundrum of the entire Lost Horizon. It's actually awesome.

We've now been running Coriolis:The Great Dark for a few sessions and it's excellent. As a radical perspective Lore is what made Coriolis The Third Horizon so good. And honestly the lore of the CtGD is just as compelling. The players have not yet left The Great Ship and we've loved it all.

Pretty much everything by Claire North is outstanding including the new Greek mythology series revolving around Penelope.

New book recommendation. I've just finished the audio of "The Pursuit of William Abbey" by Claire North, excellently read by Peter Kenny. Much like "1st 15 Lives of Harry August" this is a masterpiece of the weird intersecting with history. uk.bookshop.org/p/books/the-...

The encounters will allow all players to participate. I've overridden the random rolls imposing an order on those rolls. I'm still in effect using the core delve, how far do you get or the ship one encounter a week frame for pacing.

It's given me a lot of time to plan. Should be fun.

I've pre rolled both the delve encounters and the great ship encounters and turned both into a series of defined narratives. Its a weakness I've seen in TOR 2e as well, the encounters are very barebones, which actually makes riffing off them hard. To be fair FL make this point themselves.

Yep I've set it up and got it ready to run for the EffeKt guys. The foundry implementation handles almost everything, although there are a few minor gaps arising from it being built around the Quick start. We're kicking off this weekend coming. Already impressed.
