Receiving a lot of notes this morning about making friends with deer. My favourite line: "[the deer] became quite domesticated and loved riding on the back of his ATV (quite the sight, I assure you but my buddy never let it drive)".

Finally got to devour Emily Henry's new book, "Funny Story". Thankful to writers and BC libraries for giving me these chances to visit other lives.

I had no idea that Delores spent time working in the canneries here on the North Coast. What a treasure her life and her stories are, not to mention her art!

At 95, Master Haida Weaver, Delores Churchill has seen and survived a lot. And yet joy punctuates all of her words. I wish I could have talked to her for much longer. She's home on Haida Gwaii for her book launch this Saturday at the Haida Heritage Centre.
