Indeed. I have raised this before in the Active Travel Forum and council just seem to ignore it.

I just heard back from @gmpolice.bsky.social Op Snap team after I queried the decision. The registered keeper has been sent a court summons in relation to the expired MOT certificate. If you're going to drive without an MOT or insurance, don't draw attention to yourself by close-passing a cyclist.

I note that the screenshot from the video shows a misleading diagram. The blue markup arrows are the cycle lanes and the green arrows are the pedestrian crossings.

At the risk of sounding pedantic, whilst I think this is an excellent design, it is not strictly a Cyclops junction as it has the circulating cycle lane on the inside of the pedestrian crossings. A Cyclops junction has the cycle lanes on the outside. Each design has advantages and disadvantages.

I agree on the width; narrower would encourage drivers not to cut the corner. However, this is a quiet, access only residential street. Regarding markings, they shouldn't be necessary here. A continuous footway should emphasise the pedestrian priority (which always applies across side roads anyway).

YX69NTD. Annoyed that I didn't get round to submitting this one to @lancspolice.bsky.social . Overtaking too close, at speed, over a double white line, forcing an oncoming driver to swerve onto the verge. Also a repeat offender (2nd clip) - warning letter sent by @gmpolice.bsky.social back in May.

It serves only to make the driver realize that they may be filmed, that the footage will be submitted to the police, and that the police will be interested. Doing that one driver at a time is ineffective; there needs to be much wider publicity. 2/2

MA63JFU. Warning letter from @gmpolice.bsky.social for this one. Given the huge amount of space available in the lane, I can only conclude that this was a deliberate close pass. If so, the warning letter is not educational, because the driver already knows they are doing wrong. 1/2

This is absolutely bizarre. These LTNs, which from the start always had majority local support, & which were paid for by TfL, are now uncontroversial in practice. Removal of £2million OBGR improvements would be an unprecedented act of social vandalism & financial waste. Shameful stuff.

Lancashire police have served a Notice of Intended Prosecution to the registered keeper of this truck, which was going very fast (probably about 50mph) when the driver overtook me far too closely.

To be honest, the overtake was OK apart from the aggressive horn abuse. But yes, we usually catch them up further along.

MD71JWF. Warning letter from @gmpolice.bsky.social for this. There was nothing to prevent this driver from leaving 1.5 metres gap when overtaking instead of the 0.8 metres that they gave.

PE13LSK. @gmpolice.bsky.social sent a warning letter to Stagecoach bus company for this. This bus driver passed far too close (~1 metre) at speed (~37mph) on Wednesday. The crap bit of paint @boltoncouncil.bsky.social put on the road is irrelevant, but shouldn't be on a 40mph road.

Good to see that @gmpolice.bsky.social sent a warning letter to this obnoxious driver that I encountered on Wednesday. He took exception to my safety flag (70cm) and abused the horn, then demonstrated his irrational, visceral hatred of people who ride bicycles. People like 5this are a danger to all.
